Book review: Grave Secret (Secret McQueen #5) by Sierra Dean

Available today!
Sometimes a secret goes to the grave. Sometimes Secret puts you there.

It’s been a hell of a year for Secret McQueen, and the last thing in the world she wants is to get caught up in werewolf drama. But when her former fiancĂ© Lucas Rain shows up asking for her help, she knows there’s no easy way out.

After making it known she wants nothing to do with him, Secret agrees to help find Lucas’s wayward sister Kellen. After all, how much trouble could one socialite get into in the city that never sleeps?

Unless that socialite has been spirited away by fairies.

Trying to track down a missing girl in an alternate reality is just the start of Secret’s problems, though. Someone appears to be killing teenagers, and the MO looks eerily similar to something for which the half-fairy oracle, Calliope, might be responsible. Throw in a rogue wolf pack claiming allegiance to Secret’s mother, Mercy, and she’ll have miles to go before she rests.

Warning: This book contains a promise fulfilled, sex that’s out of this world, and more heartache than one hybrid assassin can handle

Book 5 in the Secret McQueen series  picks up  with more drama for poor Secret. Kellen Lucas sister and Secret's friend is missing. She promises to find her. Mercy Secret's mom is back and trying to kill her again. There's a possibility that Calliope is killing teenagers and Keaty wants her to find out.  There's more than that but i don't want to give anything away because part of the big draw for me when reading is the fact that you can't figure out what's coming. Least i can't. lol  Big stuff happens in this book. I still can't decide if i am team Holden or Team Desmond. You get plenty of both in this book to screw up your head deciding. There are also a few twists i didn't see coming and am not sure i am happy with at all. This book for me made me laugh and feel for the characters. Lucas is still a ass but hopefully he can learn something soon and redeem himself  a bit. I did like him in the beginning when he seemed smart and strong but i am thinking he's pretty lost right now. Sierra Dean is a master at torturing her characters.  It's a thrill ride all the way through and leaves you as always, wanting more. 5 out of 5 stars for Grave Secret by Sierra Dean.

Book review: Keeping Secret ( Secret McQueen series book 4 ) by Sierra Dean

From authors website:
Keeping Secret

Secret McQueen, Book 4
Coming July 10, 2012

Something old, something blue, something deadly…what else is new?

It’s a nice day for a white wedding. At least that’s what Secret McQueen is hoping for, with her poofy-princess-dress marriage to a werewolf king looming closer and closer by the day. But as ever, nothing can be that easy for a vampire/werewolf hybrid for whom someone still harbors a death wish.

Summoned to the south by her werewolf uncle, who makes no bones about the fact her mate bond with Lucas doesn’t pass muster, Secret learns her furry heritage looks more like a tangled vine than a family tree. Getting her royal uncle’s blessing hinges on finding one of the missing twigs. Even with vampire sentry Holden Chancery at her side, she manages to land up to her neck in a swamp of trouble.

As an assassin’s scope zeroes in, family dramas boil up and a fast-collapsing love square threatens to bury her alive, making it to the church on time could be the least of Secret’s problems.

Warning: Contains a grumpy bride who shouldn’t be wearing wedding white, a motley crew of bridesmaids, a dangerous scenic drive in the woods and a smoking-hot trio of suitors who might be too scorching to touch.

I've been a big fan of Sierra Dean's Secret McQueen series since i read the very first one. I can't believe we are on to book 4 already. I say that after i've been impatiently waiting for each one. I then inhale them in  one big gulp or in this case sitting and then start waiting for more again. Honest to god i never knew where the author is leading me in this book. I don't mean that in a bad way though. I mean it in a very good and devious way. lol Secret has so many love interests you need a map to keep track of them all. I'm always trying to decide which one I am rooting for. Usually it's Desmond but i have to say Holden is really getting to me. I might have to switch over to him soon. Poor Secret is all twisted up over the men in her life. Not that she isn't enjoying them as she's twisting. Thing is in this book she's getting married and someone keeps trying to kill her. Between all the men in her life and her other daily stuff she has to pull off a wedding and not get killed before it happens. The bad guy in this book flew right under my nose and i missed it. Well done Sierra. I should've had a inkling but i was to busy with the men distracting me to see it. One of the best and worst things about this book is the same thing that happens in every Secret McQueen book. It's getting to the end ...it's getting really good and then.... I'm left hanging. What wait!!! What happens next? Those are usually my last words. Nice! 5out of 5 Modokker Book stars for Keeping Secret by Sierra Sean! Loved it! Go Holden! Team Desmond. Just say no to Lucas!!! Which team are you on? Maybe Sig? Lots of hot sexy men in this series to choose from.

Secret Santa

A Secret McQueen Novella
Sierra Dean
Available today  November 29, 2011
ebook only

’Tis the season for ho-ho-homicide.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The season for mistletoe, Christmas lights…and a killing spree. When Secret’s friend, Detective Mercedes Castilla, asks for help to solve a series of murders longer than a string of lights, Secret resigns herself to the fact her holidays will be anything but peaceful.

It seems someone is killing New Yorkers in an unusually gruesome way, and as the bodies pile up faster than presents under the tree, the police are no closer to finding the killer than Secret is to finding the perfect present for one of her boyfriends, Lucas.

Tracking down a monster in Manhattan the week before Christmas is almost as difficult as shopping for her ever-expanding collection of loved ones. When tragedy strikes close to home, Secret must do everything in her power to put an end to the horror in time for Santa to come down the chimney.

Warning: Contains a less than merry McQueen with a sword and a reason to use it; a festive new use for mistletoe; and a promise that will haunt Secret like the Ghost of Christmas Future.

Sigh i love this series. I think Sierra Dean tries to torture me with these novella's lol. I love em but they are never long enough. She gives you some great story then leaves you hanging. If you've read this series then you know all about Secret McQueen hunter extraordinaire. Secret has a complicated life. She is soul bonded to the wolf King of New York  Lucas Rain and his second in command Desmond. Then there is her super sexy vampire friend and Vampire council Sentry Holden Chancery who has the hots for her. Talk about a confusing love life. In Secret Santa you don't get to see Lucas at all as he is away visiting family. You do get a nice dose of Desmond and Holden though.  I can totally see the confusion Secret has for all these men. Secret Santa is a sexy little Christmas read with a twist. A monster is on the loose in New York City. Bodies keep showing up or at least parts of them and Secret is asked to try and figure out what's going on. It gets close to home when someone close gets snatched. Will Secret save the day and get to enjoy Christmas with her newly made up family? Another exciting Secret read that of course leaves you waiting for more. The only thing missing was Lucas Rain but you can't have everything in a short novella. 5 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for Secret Santa by Sierra Dean.
