As the snow falls, her touch sets him aflame... "I don't want you to leave." Texas billionaire Chase Ferguson has one regret: leaving Miriam Andrix to protect her from his public life. When a snowstorm strands her in his mountain mansion, their passion reignites, and it's too hot to resist! But reality--and scandal--arrives with the thaw. Chase turned his back on happiness once. Will he fight for what he truly wants this time?

Back with the Ferguson family again. Ten years ago Chase Ferguson met Miriam Andrix. They both fell in love but when push came to shove Chase balked and sent Miriam away. He thought he was protecting her from a life she couldn't handle. Now Chase is the mayor of Dallas and he's in the political eye and someone has dragged their past out as a threat to them both. When Chase goes to Montana where Miriam lives to spend Thanksgiving in the mansion he owns there a chance encounter brings them together. Then a winter blizzard traps her at his place and sparks fly. Then what? This is a second chance romance when forced proximity brings the past to the present. This one is a sizzler when Chase let's go for once. Loved this quick little story and the Ferguson family is a joy to read about.

One summer, two sisters and a chance to start over…

Before the burglary that shattered her confidence, Phoenix Rose had a fiancĂ©, a successful store and a busy, happy existence. After months spent adrift, she takes a job at the lakeside resort of Cooper’s Charm. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, friendly colleagues and a charismatic, widowed boss, Phoenix is slowly inching her way back into the world.

Visiting Cooper’s Charm to check up on her little sister, Ridley Rose impulsively agrees to fill in as housekeeper. Still reeling from an ego-bruising divorce, she finds satisfaction in a job well done—and in the attention of the resort’s handsome scuba instructor.

For Phoenix and Ridley, Cooper’s Charm is supposed to be merely temporary. But this detour may lead to the place they most need to be, where the future is as satisfying as it is surprising…

Two sisters, Phoenix and Ridley end up in Cooper's Charm a lakeside resort after traumatic events change their lives. Cooper Cochren is the owner of the resort and it has provided him with a outlet for his grief of losing his wife. While Cooper's Charm might be a fun place for people to hang out and enjoy family time, for the character's in this story it's a place for them to heal. I enjoyed this book. It's one of those stories that make you feel mellow. You know your going to get a good story so you can sit back and relax and read with enjoyment you'll get a great HEA at the end. Loved all the character's. There's a bit of drama and suspense mixed with romance and soul bearing revelations. Enjoyed from beginning to end.

eARC Book review: When We Found Home by Susan Mallery

Life is meant to be savored, but that's not easy with no family, limited prospects and a past you'd rather not talk about. Still, Callie Smith doesn't know how to feel when she discovers she has a brother and a sister--Malcolm, who grew up with affection, wealth and privilege, and Keira, a streetwise twelve-year-old.

Callie doesn't love being alone, but at least it's safe. Despite her trepidation, she moves into the grand family home with her siblings and grandfather on the shores of Lake Washington, hoping just maybe this will be the start of a whole new life.

But starting over can be messy. Callie and Keira fit in with each other, but not with their posh new lifestyle, leaving Malcolm feeling like the odd man out in his own home. He was clever enough to turn a sleepy Seattle mail-order food catalog into an online gourmet powerhouse, yet he can't figure out how to help his new sisters feel secure. Becoming a family will take patience, humor, a little bit of wine and a whole lot of love.

But love isn't Malcolm's strong suit... until a beautiful barista teaches him that an open heart, like the family table, can always make room for more.

Malcom, Callie and Keira are a new family. Siblings with different mothers, but the same father and brought together by a grandfather that loves them. What's interesting about this story is how different in so many way these three characters are. They have several important things in common but each come from a totally different background.   They all have to learn how to be a family and how to be there for each other yet also figure out who they are on their own. Callie and Malcolm each find love and that isn't a easy path either. Many of the secondary characters are interesting too add a lot to the story. I wasn't sure how much i would like this book considering there is a lot going on and a lot of characters but i ended up really loving it. It's not the kind of story i usually read but I have enjoyed this author before and the blurb was intriguing so i took a chance that paid off for me. Well worth the read!

eARC Book review: Chased (Chase Brothers #3) by Lauren Dane

Not this book is a re-issue.

Marc must face the biggest challenge of his life-convincing Liv Davis that he means to love her forever.

Liv Davis had just about given up on her happily ever after. Burned by love more than once, she's beginning to think Mr. Right wasn't in the cards for her. Marc Chase is a confirmed bachelor and lover of women-lots of them. He's determined not to fall head over heels the way his brothers have. Until he kisses Olivia Davis and realizes head over heels may not be such a bad thing after all!

Can Liv open her scarred heart for this younger ladies man? She loves Marc more than she can begin to admit but she's terrified of being rejected again. Marc faces a challenge greater than he's ever faced before. Making a woman believe he's more than just a great bedmate-making her believe he's in it for good. In the end it will all come down to two days in a hotel and a bet. Can they both win?

Liv has pretty much given up on finding Mr Right. When she catches her boyfriend in bed with another women that's it. Marc has been a good friend to Liv but she's never seen him as anything but a friend really. He's almost 6 years younger than her and seemingly bags every babe in around. Should that be enough of a deterrent for her? Marc means to show her he's not that guy anymore. He's not sure if marriage and babies is his end game but he knows he's serious about her.  I think you can probably manage this book ok without reading the first two books in the series but you'll be much better off if you do read them. It feels like it picks up in the middle of something and that I missed something. Stumbling around in the dark a bit it didn't take long to figure out  who all the characters in this book went with. Marc is 6 years younger than Liv. She uses that and her past experience with men and her family issues to hold him at bay. Marc slowly gets in there though. I enjoyed the story and the entire Chase family.

eARC Book review: Cowboy on My Mind (Montana Strong #1) by R.C. Ryan

37713230

Available now!
eARC Provided by publisher through Netgalley

A heartwarming western romance about a cowboy who gets a second chance with the first love he couldn't forget in the rugged beauty of the Montana mountains. . .

Don't miss this special 2-in-1 edition that includes a bonus western romance novella by Sara Richardson!
Once a bad boy...

Ben Monroe was the ultimate bad boy-and everyone in Haller Creek knew it. But now as a sheriff's deputy, Ben spends his time breaking up bar fights rather than starting them, and staying away from trouble...until Becca Henderson comes back into town. She's just as beautiful as Ben remembers-and just as far out of his reach.
Coming home is exactly what Becca Henderson needed. A place of her own, a successful new business, and a chance to reconnect with the sexy cowboy she had a crush on in school. Ben has always blazed his own path and never let anyone stand in his way. It excites-and scares-her. But when an unexpected threat surfaces, Becca will see just how far Ben will go to protect the woman he loves-and fight for their chance at forever.

First in a new series from R.C. Ryan. Ben Monroe and his two younger brothers tumbled into Mackenzie Monroe's life just when he needed them most. He was at his lowest point and these three boys needed someone and that someone was Mac. It's starts off with a introduction of the characters and how they all came together as a family then moves to years later as adults.  Ben is the towns new part time deputy sheriff and Becca Henderson is is old school time crush. Little does he know he was also her crush. A couple of shootings with Becca in the cross hairs pulls them together. Unfortunately Becca's dad has never liked Ben and even still all these years later  doesn't and makes it known often. This book worked ok for me but not one of my favorites. I liked the characters but some of the scenes were over the top. Becca's dad was awful and her mom was his enabler. Neither one ever stands up to him. Becca tries a few times but only half heartedly. There is a suspense factor since someone is shooting either at Becca or Will, her friend.  All in all it was a enjoyable read but a tad disjointed at times and i became frustrated with the characters. Will i read the next book in the series? Yes. I've enjoyed several of R.C. Ryan's other books and I'm not ready to give up on this series yet.
