This is a short novella and follow up to her story in Guy Most Likely to Resist novella. You don't have to read the first novella to read this one though. I haven't... yet. I plan on it though. Renee Griffen reconnects with Jake Copeland 10 years after high school when they find each other in the social media website Facebook. They were each other's first time before graduation and then went their separate ways. Renee is a world traveler and travel agent and Jake works in a marketing firm. They used skype to talk and see each other and hot make out sessions. Problem is she lives in Chicago and he lives in Atlanta  The ten year class reunion is coming up and they use that for a good reason to see each other in person and redo their first time together. Hopefully with betterlonger lasting results. Both are wondering if the others feelings are more than just old friends and it all falls apart when Renee find out a big secret Jake has been keeping. This is a quick sexy read that is a very enjoyable fun hour worth of reading. I would love to see this as a longer book but even with the short amount of pages i didn't feel cheated but i definitely wanted more. 5 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick Stars for Hard to Resist by Janelle Denison

This is book 3 in Janelle Denison exciting Reliance Group series. In this one Valerie who is the hostess for Onyx Casino in Las Vegas  as well as a Reliance Group member. She gets paired with Chase Pierson who is treasure hunter.  Things heat up quick since Valerie is clairvoyant and Chase has psychic abilities too  He can touch a object and literally see it's history. Valerie can touch people or feel things in places. Between the two of them they hope to find a missing piece of a intricate and expensive cane once owned by Al Capone. There is another great treasure Chase is after once he finds the missing piece and assembles the cane worth millions. Problem is both Valerie and Chase have troubled family pasts to overcome. Sparks literally fly when they touch each other but someone doesn't want them together at all. I love love loved Chase. The love scenes were divine and the connection between Chase and Valerie was electric, literally!  I like when you can't figure out who the bad guy is but sometimes it's pretty fun when you think you know and you're sitting there saying NO NO NO don't you get it he's the bad guy. While that is fun for me this book wasn't about the bad guy but the love story. Chase has all this patience with Valerie and even though he has his own issues he's there for her and believes in her. This is easily my favorite of all the books in this series so far. Can't wait for the next one! 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick Stars for Janelle Denison's Through the Night.

This is a hot little romantic suspense with a couple of stories going side by side. Kind of a two for one.  There is Zoe and Sean but also Zoe's best friend Jessie gets a little side story too. Sean is a member of the Reliance group founded by Caleb Roux. Sean was recruited by Caleb after a short stint in the state prison for a con gone wrong. Thankfully the judge saw something in Sean and hooked him up with Caleb. Sean is the bartender in the club in Vegas that doubles and the Reliance group headquarters. His assignment this time is to get close to Zoe Russo and see if she knows where her dad is. Her dad is suspected of embezzling millions in a land development scheme and has gone missing. Reliance group has been hired to find him. Grant Russo Zoe's father is also the man that got Sean's dad put in prison 12 years ago when they got caught in a ponzi scheme and Grant was able to make it look like Sean's dad acted alone. Talk about a uncomfortable assignment. It's all made worse when Sean meets Zoe and there is a instant attraction. It seems like everything is lost when Zoe finds out what Sean is really doing but then she decides to work with Reliance group to find her dad and hopefully clear his name. While there looking for Grant Russo someone is stalking Zoe and threatening her life. They need to find him and the missing money fast. This didn't end the way i thought it would. There is a nice little twist or two at the end i didn't expect. Sean is so hard on himself when it comes to his past but he finally finds a way to forgive himself in the end and i really loved this character.  The little side story is this book is Zoe's best friend Jessica and her first love she unexpectedly runs into while helping Zoe. I won't say more than that because they are not the main focus of the book but i enjoyed their side story too. Giving Night After Night by Janelle Denison 4 out of 5 Modokker book Pick stars. Book review: Into the Night by author Janelle Denison

Into the Night is the first book by Janelle Denison that I've read and the first in a new series she started in April of this year called The Reliance group series. You get a introduction in this book to the members that make up The Reliance group and at the same time a peek at who might be in future books. Up first is Former Vice cop Nathan Fox.

This was a book packed with suspense, romance and lots of mixed up feelings. Both Nathan and Nicole had things in their past at working against them. Nathan is a ex-cop who quit when his last assignment went horribly wrong and resulted in the death of someone he had sworn to protect. It wasn't his fault but he still harbors the guilt for it. Nicole was taken advantage of by her college professor when she was 18 years old. She was hurt so bad emotionally that she won't trust a man again with her heart.  Nathan working for The Reliance Group is asked to save a runaway girl from Sloane a man who is a known to be a shady character who uses underage girls and then tosses them away. Nathan attending a speed dating a event as a favor for a friend  happens to meet Nicole, who was there for a story for the paper she works for. They hit of off and their chance meeting turns into a night of super hot sex!! Nicole happens to see the file on the runaway girl at Nathan's house and decides she wants to do a story on Sloane and his nefarious activities and maybe get a little justice for all the girls he's hurt.  Nicole and Nathan both go under cover to get into Sloane's circle separately but neither one knows it until  they meet at a place Sloane is supposed to be. After the initial shock Nathan grabs Nicole and after hashing things out decide to work together. This is when the story really picks up. They have to get into Sloane's inner circle, invade his spaces and find the runaway girl. All without compromising Nicole who is pretending to be alot younger than she is so they can find Angela the runaway girl.  The closer Nathan and Nicole get to finding Angela the closer they get to each other. The sex scenes in this are to die for. Well written and designed to get you heart thumping. You'll fall for Nathan and hurt for Nicole's past. I thought Nathan and Nicole were perfect together and look forward to the next book in this series to find out what happens with the rest of The Reliance Group members. If you like a mix of hot romance, steamy love scenes mixed with rocking suspense this series is a good fit for you! I give Into the Night by author Janelle Denison 4 out 5 of Modokker Book Pick stars. After you read this one get ready for book 2 in this series Night After Night coming October 11.
