Bio:

Beth Williamson, who also writes as Emma Lang, is an award-winning, bestselling author of both historical and contemporary romances. Her books range from sensual to scorching hot. She is a Career Achievement Award Nominee in Erotic Romance by Romantic Times Magazine, in both 2009 and 2010.

Questions with Beth Williamson

1. What is the one thing you would want people who have never read your books to know about you and your books?

I'd like them to expect to hold my hand and go on a journey with me, filled with emotions, highs and lows, humor, some smexy times, and eventually, a happy ever after that will make them sigh. I also have an obsession with cowboys, but it's mostly a secret thing. ;)

2. How do you keep track of all your characters comings and goings. Especially when it's a series? Do you keep a notebook a bulletin board?

I keep a file for each series and add to it every time I write a book. Things like their birthday, how old they are, eye color, hair color, even nipple color (hey that can be important). I refer to it all the time as I write the books in the series.

3. What do you like to read yourself when you’re not writing? Favorite genre and author? Do you have a favorite book?

I read all kinds of books and genres. My favorite is historical romance of any timeframe (especially the old west – surprise!). My favorite book – that’s a toss up between ONLY HIS by Elizabeth Lowell or THE STAND by Stephen King.

4. Books into movies? Which one of your books would you like to see made into a movie? Who would play the leads?

I play this game all the time.  I would love to see THE BOUNTY, my first Malloy series book, made into a movie. Tyler and Nicky – my all-time favorite couple. I see David Boreanaz playing Tyler – big with dark hair and piercing eyes, a hardass. Yessss! For Nicky, the actress has to be tall and kick-ass and with reddish brown hair – I like Emma Stone. She’s got the moxie to pull it off.

Modokker: I love that you have this all planned out in your head. Perhaps one day it will happen!

5. What's up next for you? Books? appearances??

Up next will be CIRCLE EIGHT: CALEB (release date coming soon, but early 2013), ENDLESS HEART in print in April, 2013. I have two other books I can’t announce yet for 2013 (sorry they’re sekrit!). I'll be at Authors After Dark in New Orleans in August and Lora Leigh's Reader Appreciation weekend (RAW) in September.

Modokker: Looks like lots of great stuff from you in 2013! I would love to go to RAW sometime.

This is book 2 in the Circle 8 series. Eight being the number of siblings in the Graham family. In book one we get a introduction to the family with Matthew the oldest. The Grahams are still mourning the murders of their parents and the disappearance of the baby of the family 5 year old Benjy. In Brody the search is still on for Benjy. Brody takes off for Mexico with Olivia hot on his heels. Olivia is a bit of a hot head. She's stubborn and tough and heartbroken over her missing brother who was quite attached to her. She can't rest until he's found so when she learns Brody is heading into Mexico on a lead and the chance that Benjy is there she wants to go.  Brody doesn't want her to but when she saves his life he decides he owes it to her. What follows is a journey of death, mean mean nasty people and discovery for both Brody and Olivia. Olivia's fiance' left her a month after her parents were killed saying he could handle her whining and grief. She can't trust love and Brody's never really experienced love of family like Olivia with her big bunch. They make into Mexico and get some information on all the robberies and the missing people including Benjy and barely escape with their lives. Heading back to the Graham ranch in Texas they have to decide what to do about each other, but is the danger really over??? No... If you've read book one in this series, and you should, you come out of it thinking that Olivia is a cold hearted little bitch. In this book you finally get to see why she is the way she is. Olivia or "Liv" wasn't always so cold and hard. The writing is amazing and it's awesome to see a tough but still feminine heroine. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for Brody by Emma Lang.

Book review: Endless Heart ( Heart series book 3) by Emma Lang

Endless Heart

May 29, 2012 (eBook)

Order eBook: Samhain Amazon Kindle Barnes & Noble

She’s learning to live. He’s forgotten how. Love will be their teacher.

Lettie Brown has lived in the shadow of violence. After escaping her brutal past, she’s finally at home in Forestville, Wyoming, where she would live a normal life—if she knew how. She’s content working at The Blue Plate and printing the town newspaper, if not happy. Then a stranger stumbles into her world and turns everything upside down.

Shane Murphy is a shell of a man, destroyed by the aftermath of the war, his personal tragedies and a penchant for cheap whiskey. When he lands, literally, on Lettie’s feet, his future takes a hard right turn.

As they fumble through a relationship that should not have been, a deep love takes root, one that cannot be denied. Together they discover a bond as unbreakable as steel and as undeniable as life itself—until the past rears its ugly head and threatens the happiness they’ve found in each other.

Endless Heart is book 3 in Emma Lang's Heart series. I love a good western/cowboy romance. Lettie Brown seems have had a very rough life until she escapes to Wyoming with her friend Angeline. She's working at the Blue Plate restaurant trying to mind her own business and just get by with a minimal amount of contentment. It all comes crashing down on her when Shane Murphy falls on her feet. Literally on her feet. Shane's been on a 3 week drunk and was beat up and left for dead i guess. Somehow he ends up at the door of the Blue Plate and on Lettie's feet where he throws up all over her shoes.  The owners of the Blue Plate who took Lettie and her friend Angeline in take Shane in too. They doctor him up and try to help him recover. He has nothing. No money not even clothes since they had to burns his. Lettie is attracted to Shane though and it scares her to death. Shane likes her too and due to old emotional wounds neither think it's a good idea to be together. To bad they can't help it. When they are tasked to make a run for supplies for the Blue Plate things go bad for them quickly and they forced to rely on each other to survive. They decide they can't fight their feelings while trying to out run some bad guys. I really enjoyed this book. You can read it alone but I felt like i was a bit in the dark in a few area and if i had the could have i would've read the first two in this series before attempting this one. If you can over look that you can read it alone. Both Lettie and Shane have tortured souls. It's kind of heartbreaking to find out about what they went through. There is a little of what i call mystical magic in this book too in the form of a spirit that's really fun. A really nice enjoyable read. I want to get the backlist now. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick Stars.

Book review: Matthew (The Circle Eight Series book 1) by Emma Lang

Photobucket

A man learns to hold what is his…

It is a vast spread in the eastern wilds of the newly independent Republic of Texas, the ranch their parents fought for … and died for. To the eight Graham siblings, no matter how much hard work or hard love it takes, life is unthinkable without family…

In the wake of his parents’ murder, Matthew Graham must take the reins at the Circle Eight. He also needs to find a wife in just thirty days, or risk losing it all. Plain but practical, Hannah Foley seems the perfect bride for him . . . until after the wedding night.

Their marriage may make all the sense in the world, but neither one anticipates the jealousies that will result, the treacherous danger they’re walking into, or the wildfire of attraction that will sweep over them, changing their lives forever.

This is the first historical western I have read in a long time so i was really excited to have the opportunity to read this book. I have never read a Emma Lang book before but i have seen them and have wanted to read them. Her covers always look so good that they peak my interest. Someone is definitely doing a good job there with Matthew's cover. This series starts out when the oldest Graham sibling Matthew at age 27 suddenly finds himself as a parent to 6 of his younger siblings with the baby of the family missing when his parents are murdered. In order to claim some land he finds out he needs a wife. A Wife named Hannah. Now all he has to do is find her. lol Hannah on the other hand is a only child. Her parents died when she was 7 and so it's been her and her grandmother every since.  She's had no one but her grandmother and the boarding house they run together. She has always longed for a big family, any family. She runs into Matthew's brother literally at the general store and Matthew tries to apologize to her but she runs off. That's when the store keep tell him that her name is Hannah and Matthew decides he's just met his wife! This was a really good book with a lot going on. Matthew has to learn to run things without his parents and be the boss of everything. He struggles with his feelings for Hannah and how he needs to do things. Hannah has to learn how to be a wife and a be in a big family especially when one member is quite hostile towards her. Then there is the missing Graham sibling and who killed Matthew's parents. You have your love, lust, passion and danger all rolled into this great introduction to the Circle eight series.  If your in the market for a historical western this is a great place to start. The writing is great. The dialogue has lots of funny bits that WILL make you laugh out loud and the interaction between Matthew and Hannah runs from sweet to HOT! Both Matthew and Hannah grow throughout the book. From being unsure of who they are to being take charge people. It was so much fun to watch. Hannah is so meek in the beginning and you hardly recognize her by the end. To me this was a really great love story within a much longer story that is yet to come in the books that follow this one.  I'm ready to see what happens next! 5 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars.
