Review: Dirty laundry, a Sofie Metropolis novel by author Tori Carrington

Dirty Laundry is the second book is the Sofie Metropolis series by author Tori Carrington.  In this 2nd book Sofie is still finding her way as a PI. Uncle Spyro is still out of the country so she's on her own unless you count Uncle Spyro's silent partner she can hardly get a word out of him and then there is also Rosie the detective agency's secretary. Sofie has to track down Uncle Tolly who has disappeared from the Dry cleaners he owns with his wife.  It starts to look  like maybe Uncle Tolly was doing more than laundry perhaps at the dry cleaners and that's where the mob comes in. That puts Sofie in touch with Tony DiPiazza, who coincidentally she went to high school with. Now he's very interested and attracted to her but also makes it known he wants her to stop investigating Uncle Tolly's disappearance if the goons following her mean anything.  To add to all this her mother tells her she suspects her dad is cheating on her and wants Sofie to find out the truth and she also needs to find a missing ferret for a little girl. she can't seem to get away from the missing pet cases even though she keeps trying. lol  Oh and Jake Porter is back working on her car and giving her kisses. Below is a little tidbit to get you interested.

Sofie Metropolis is the newest P.I. on the mean streets of Astoria, Queens. She’s known for her trademark frappes and her itchy trigger finger. She even shot one of her own clients!

Well, he was trying to kill her at the time . . . .

In this second title in the Sofie Metropolis series, Sofie’s hot on the trail of a missing pet ferret and a missing dry cleaner who appears to have been laundering much more than clothes...

Which is where the mob comes in, in the darkly handsome figure of Tony DiPiazza. Tony’s very taken with Sofie. Too bad she won’t back off the money-laundering and kidnapping (or is it murder?) investigation.

Really too bad, since hunky Australian bounty hunter/man of mystery Jake Porter is hanging around again, tinkering under the hood of Sofie’s car and kissing Sofie like he really means it, only she’s too busy to notice.

Sofie’s quest for the truth gets her into hot water—and a pair of cement overshoes. It’s not her best look.

What do you think? Pick up this book to find out what happens to Sofie this time. If you did not read the first book Sofie Metropolis that's OK cause these can be read as a stand alone but i recommend reading them in order if you can. Click here if you'd like to read a excerpt of the first chapter. You'll have to scroll down to get to it. The excerpts always get me. lol  I give Dirty Laundry 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars. Well worth reading. Hope you'll check it out. If you do let me know what you think.
