This is the last published book so far in the Sofie Metropolis series. I believe there are at least 2 more books in this series to come. Sofie is really getting the hang of being a PI now. Business is picking up even if her Uncle Spyro is still out of the country on vacation. She hires her cousin Pete to help out. In this book she is asked to find a missing body that disappeared from her Aunt's funeral home and she is also asked to prove the innocence of a young by accused of her killing his girlfriend. He's from the wrong side of the tracks and the girlfriend was wealthy. Of course these things are never easy and there always seems to be someone wanting her stopped. On a side note her dog Muffy is acting strange. It seems like the dogs gone back to the way it was when when his former owner was still alive. Did i mention the black cat? Hmmm lots going on with Sofie. There is also Dino who seems to spending time with Efi Sofie's sister and of course Jake Porter returns as well. Sofie's got to find her way through this mess. Here is a bit of a blurb from the Tori Carrington website.
The week before Halloween, a body disappears from Sofie’s Aunt’s funeral home. It might be a holiday prank, but Sofie’s barely begun to investigate when she’s handed a truly hot case: prove the innocence of Little Johnny Laughton who's on trial for murder! And what happens when sexy Aussie bounty hunter Jake Porter finally takes her up on her many offers?
I have to admit i was a little frustrated at the ending of this book and felt bad for Sofie but I'm thinking that book 5 will fix alot of that. I've got to day this book has plenty of action and story packed in it. You won't be bored. What's awesome here is Sofie is getting stronger and stronger in each book. She doesn't need a man to take care of her and she fights her way to get where she wants to be.
I give Working Stiff 4 out of 5 Modokker Book pick stars. This is the best of the 4 books so far i think. Read the series and make your own opinion though. Happy Reading!
