Who wants to rodeo again?

Jace Wilder has been rebuilding his life since the love of his life, Taryn, up and left town unexpectedly. But when she mysteriously returns, Jace’s dependable world comes crashing down. Taryn is hiding a dangerous secret, and no matter how hard he tries, Jace can’t stay away―especially when Taryn is at risk. And especially when the attraction he thought he’d buried long ago is back and hotter than ever. Will he be able to trust Taryn again?

Taryn Hillman’s world fell apart one horrifying night, and it’s never been the same since. When she sees a small chance at untangling herself, she takes it, though it means returning to Clearview – and seeing Jace again. But when he vows to protect her, will Taryn take a chance, and this time, never let him go?

Jace Wilder had the woman he loved and was ready to ask her to marry him when she disappeared. Taryn Hillman loved Jace but one night she and her family were all kidnapped and forced to work for a drug lord. Her dad and brother wer both killed at one point and now she's only got her sister left and she will do anything to protect her only family member left. Forced back to her hometown and eventually to Jace the two have to find their way back to each other if they can. Everything comes out when Jace gets over the shock of seeing her again. Of course he's all in to save her. This is a pretty action packed book from the very beginning. Jace and his family of friends have his back and in turn Taryn's. Lots of twists and turns throughout this book.  Guessing how it all will end to the very last pages.

eARC Book review:Twin Games in Music City (Dynasties: Beaumont Bay #1) by Jules Bennett

Available April 13th 2021

Country singer Hannah Banks wants what she shouldn’t have.

The owner of Hannah's new label—the man in charge of her career—is way too hot. So hot he’s all she can think about… So to put distance between them, she poses as her quieter twin sister. That should keep temptation away…

Except Will Sutherland doesn’t play games. He wants the real Hannah—in his studio and in his bed—as long as what’s between them stays their secret. But when an old rival uncovers the truth, Will must choose between playing the press or playing for keeps…

Hannah has a new recording label and wants to revamp her image a bit by recording some of her own songs. Will Sutherland is her new boss and he's got his own ideas about what to do with Hannah. This is one of those fun reads. A shorter book at 150 pages you can sit back and just enjoy a fun story. Will Sutherland has four brothers you get to meet to set you up for future books and Hannah has a cute twin sister that she's close too. I knew as soon as I started this book it would be good one.

eARC Book review: Strong, Silent Cowboy (Moving Violations #2) by Lora Leigh, Veronica Chadwick

He Will Do Anything…

Sallie Hamblen had three incredibly hot, sexy nights with Jacob Donovan, an undercover CIA agent, before he disappeared, leaving her broken hearted and forever yearning for the man she lost. Years later, Jacob doesn’t know that the beauty he’s about to seduce in a small town bar is the woman he held in his arms all those years ago… and that she’s on the run from her past.

To Keep Her Safe…

Former CIA agent turned cowboy, Jacob Donovan wants nothing more than a simple life. Just the ranch and occasionally someone warm and sweet in his bed. Until Sallie comes back into his life and all of a sudden he wants to be in her bed every night...all night. When he discovers that her life is in danger, he swears he’ll protect her. Even when secrets are revealed that threaten everything between them, he will lay everything on the line to keep her in his arms.

Sallie and Jacob met several years before and then he disappeared. Sallie was devastated but then she spent a few  years running for her life. Not knowing why someone was after her or why. The last place she ran to she finds Jacob again only he doesn't remember her.  This would have been a good book but several things bothered me. Jacob is 29 and Sallie is 26. He met her when he was 25 and quite the CIA not long after. At 25? Doesn't seem plausible. There is a over abundance of sex scenes in this book. They could cut it by half and take out all repetitive descriptive words and it would have been so much better.  I like the idea for this story a CIA operation gone wrong and I liked the characters but I found myself skimming a lot and that's just sad when it's sex scenes and you have to do that.

eARC book review: Charmed by the Billionaire (Blue Collar Billionaires #2) by Jessica Lemmon

Available March 2nd 2021

The day you overhear your best friend say she’d like to have sex with you is a damn good day. But, hey, Cris always takes care of me at work. What’s wrong with me taking care of one of her needs? Besides, it’s only temporary.

One breathless encounter later, I learn two things: 1) We are compatible in ways that exceed our working relationship and 2) She’s chosen me to be her first. Most guys might balk at the responsibility. Not me. Put me in, coach.

But when it comes time to wrap up our sextra-curricular activities, my heart is doing its first ever free-fall. Now I’m scrambling to convince her she’s found her Prince Charming—spoiler alert: it’s me—and that forever isn’t a fairy tale.

Benji and his assistant Cris have had the hots for each other for a long time. Neither one knew the other was interested until Benji overhears Cris on the phone telling someone. Oops. When the cat is out of the bag Cris and Benji decide to explore things. Cris spent most of her adult years so far raising her younger brothers. With the last one off to college she's a empty nester and not even 30. Benji treats here the way she deserves and is taking care of her. She's not sure how to take all the attention. Cris has always taken care of Benji even though they are friends it's always been part of her job too. Benji parents were killed when he was a young boy then he was adopted by a great family. He's a great guy but won't marry and doesn't do love which is really inconvenient for Cris because she loves him and wants to get married one day. Loved these two together and really enjoyed their chemistry and well as the rest of the family. Can't wait to see what happens with last brother!

eARC Book review: All Consuming (Brotherhood by Fire #3) by Jaci Burton

Available March 2nd 2021
eARC Provided by publisher through Netgalley

When firefighter Kal Donovan transfers to the Tactical Rescue Team, he's determined to succeed by giving work one hundred percent of his attention. This proves more difficult at his ten-year high school reunion when he runs into Hannah Clark, his first love. She's still the smart, funny, beautiful girl he loved in high school, but everything has changed. She's divorced, has a son, and has zero interest in exploring an old romance.

Hannah has moved back home after a disastrous end to a marriage that never should have been. Now her only focus is getting her hair salon up and running, and making sure her son is happy. She doesn't have time for love--especially not with Kal. She intends to look forward, not backward, and Kal is most definitely part of her past.

However as Hannah and Kal start spending time together, Hannah realizes that what she's feeling for him isn't nostalgia, but red-hot attraction. Kal's intent on showing her what it's like to be cared for, romanced, and consumed with passion--and Hannah loves it. But she wonders if she has the courage to risk her heart again, even as Kal vows not to lose her a second time.

This is the third book in this series but can stand alone. I have not read the first two books in this series. Kal comes from a family of firefighters. Now Kal is working in a different Dept from his dad and brothers. While dealing with problems with coworkers and adjusting to his new job he reunites with his high school girlfriend. Hannah hasn't seen Kal since he broke up with her before he left for college. Since then she married had a baby and divorced and now she's back home with a new business and making her way on her own. I really liked this book in the beginning. Kal and Hannah instantly reconnect and the chemistry is there. I loved how Kal just fits in wherever he goes. Always thinking about Hannah and her son Oliver but also anyone else in circle. Hannah struggles with trusting him and letting him help her. This comes from her ex-husband who was immature and untrustworthy. After while this got tiring and overdone. Overall I enjoyed the book about three quarters of the way through Hannah's mistrust just got to be to much. Kal did nothing to warrant it. Still wouldn't mind reading the first two books in this series.
