With Joy, Love, and a Little Trepidation Courtney, Sienna and Rachel Invite You To the Most Emotional Wedding of the Year… Their Mother's

Courtney ~ The Misfit ~

As the awkward one, Courtney Watson may not be as together as her sisters, but she excels at one thing—keeping secrets, including her white-hot affair with a sexy music producer. Planning Mom's wedding exposes her startling hidden life, changing her family's view of her—and how she views herself—forever.

Sienna ~ The Free Spirit ~

When Sienna's boyfriend proposes—in front of her mom and sisters, for crying out loud—he takes her by surprise. She already has two broken engagements under her belt. Should she say "I do" even if she's not sure she does?

Rachel ~ The Cynic ~

Rachel thought love would last forever…right up until her divorce. As Mom's wedding day draws near and her ex begs for a second chance, she's forced to acknowledge some uncomfortable truths about why her marriage failed, and decide if she'll let pride stand in the way of her own happily ever after.

This book is about a mother's wedding and her three daughters love lives. Each of the three sisters is different. You can see by the blurb who they are. It's like three mini stories taking place in one book. There were parts of all three that i enjoyed but Courtney was the stand out for me. She's supposed to be not as smart as her other sisters but she has secrets that will change that idea. Quinn is her boss's grandson and a bit older but the chemistry between them sizzles on the page. Sienna gets engaged for a third time in a surprise attack from the boyfriend she's not even sure she loves. What kind of sucked for her story is the guy she should be with is obvious to everyone but her and so we don't get to see them figure it out til the end. Felt a bit cheated with their romance. Rachel the oldest sister took care of her other sisters growing up and is cheated on by her husband so she divorces him and now two years later she still loves him but can't forgive him. With his help and her sisters she slowly figures out how to leave the past behind and let go of the need to do it all on her own.  Overall i enjoyed the book but Courtney is the sister i enjoyed the most. I think her part of the story was the most fleshed out and detailed. The three girls mother gets married in this book too and i was not impressed with her but it was fun to see the girls deal with all the wedding hoopla. Not one of Susan Mallery's best books but still a enjoyable read.

eARC Book review: Devil and the Deep (Deep Six #2) by Julie Ann Walker

Cocktail parties, political fundraisers, and charity events are Maddy Powers' way of life. But the daring man who appropriated her father's yacht a couple of months ago is still out there, somewhere, and she wants to pay him back for the scorching kiss they shared.

Behind his suave smile and ladykiller eyes, Bran Palladino carries a dark secret that keeps him from pursuing Maddy… even though he can't get her out of his head. But when Maddy is kidnapped as part of a grand scheme, it's time to put up or shut up… because Bran can't live without Maddy now.

Book 2 in the Deep Six series that follows a group of former seals picks up a little after book one. If you didn't read book one though i don't see where you would have a problems following along in this book just fine. Bran and Maddy have been keeping in touch via email and text and the man is obsessed. When Maddy invites him to stop by for a visit with her on a neighboring island though he balks.  The guys get him to go and just in time as Maddy is suddenly again the object of a kidnapping. Things get crazy from there. Not only is Maddy under attack but she had 3 teenage girls with her and when Bran arrives on the scene he's got Mason and Alex with him too.  There is a bit of secondary story being told about Mason and Alex in this book which is hopefully set up for the next book in the series. I really enjoyed Bran and Maddy but Mason and Alex stole away several great scenes. The banter between the characters was fun at times and the suspense was crazy good. There were a few ho hum spots in the book but over all this one was a winner for me. I'm looking forward to seeing Mason and Alex go at it in future books. Bring on those seals!

Maggie Lee's dedication to her family knows no limits.

Even though her life is in chaos, she'll take any chance to repair her fractured family.

All she has do is:
Get out of the loony bin
Eliminate the killer who’s hunting her sister
Make sure her family doesn’t go off the rails (yup, this one’s the toughest)

Thankfully she’s got the help of an ex-lover, a conman, and a sexy sailor, along with her psychic friend, her loyal, but bickering, pets, and her favorite mob boss.

If only she could rely on them to help her stop the man who wants her sister dead. With two hitmen already killed for going after him, Maggie could use all the help she can get.

Maggie’s skills (and sanity) are put to the test and the stakes have never been higher.

This was a read in one sitting book for me. If that isn't a endorsement for a book i don't know what is. Maggie Lee is always having a crazy and full day with a lot of interesting characters in her life.  Those would include animals who can talk to her. I don't know what to say to describe one of these books except to say it's a full whirlwind of laughs and drama and crazy things happening and hot guys. Exciting from page one to finish. It's so unpredictable and there is just no way to know where the author is going. These books read fast because they are so good and fast moving. Don't want to have to think to hard and want to just enjoy a book with a smile? This series is for you. Hate to see this book end and can't wait to see what Maggie gets into next.

Braden Brandish was on top of the world as guitarist for the famed rock band Edge of Redemption. But an attack at the scene of a fire erased all his memories.

Firefighter Quinn Callahan is haunted by the victim she resuscitated—she knows him from somewhere, but can't place him. She checks up on him at the hospital and realizes he's a member of her favorite band. When Braden mistakenly believes she's his wife, the doctor encourages her to play along in order to prevent jeopardizing his health.

Desire blooms between them, even once Braden learns he's not really married to Quinn. But when it's discovered that the fire was actually arson, and more deadly fires erupt, the two are thrust into danger...and it appears Quinn's fugitive ex-husband might be involved. Will Braden regain his memory in time to put a killer behind bars?

Quinn Callahan is a rare female firefighter. Facing down people for years about her career choice it's not always easy to do her job. Saving a man who is a stranger to her but somehow familiar gets her in a situation that at times is funny and at times scary. Braden Brandish is found at the scene of a arson house fire. He doesn't remember who he is at first doesn't know why he is there or anything before waking up in a hospital room. for some reason when Quinn comes to check on him at the hospital though he is sure she is his wife. Things get a little more crazier from there. This book is a spin off of sorts from a previous book  "Beautiful Music". I don't think you necessarily need to read this book to understand this one but it would be a good place to start if you like to keep things in order when you read. Quinn and Braden try to find their way to each other in this book and it is not a easy thing to do. Braden is fighting with his memory loss and Quinn her conscious and self worth. Braden is a celebrity is a famous rock band and known playboy. In between all this is a arsonist on the loose. There's some romance, some drama and some suspense and these two figure out who they are and what they might be together.  At times it seemed a bit slow and confusing but the romance is there and the suspense was good.  Just when you think you know who the arsonist is you don't. I have reviewed a couple of books from this author and with each one i see growth. Can't wait to see what is next.

eARC Book review: Barefoot at Sunset (Barefoot Bay Timeless #1) by Roxanne St. Claire

Available June 14th 2016

When widower Mark Solomon arrives in Barefoot Bay for his 30th high school reunion, he’s not quite prepared for the onslaught of memories or the attention from interested single women who’ve gathered for the annual event on the beach. He’s ready to ditch the whole thing and resume his life as an adventure-seeking world traveler until he discovers a woman sobbing on his doorstep…and has an idea.

By her own admission, advertising copywriter Emma DeWitt is jaded, jilted, and jobless, but she goes over the edge when she learns that the resort villa that was supposed to be the site of her romantic honeymoon is occupied by a single man. But when the sexy silver fox whose staying in the villa surprises her with an irresistible offer to pose as his fake fiancée, Emma sees a way to have her week in paradise and begin healing her broken heart.

One chapter in and I was hooked! Totally hooked! First the hero of this book is closer to my age than most and then the author made him a Desert Storm veteran which my husband and I are both Desert Storm veterans. It's how we met. In the desert in Saudi Arabia. I'm a 80's chick too so hey this author had a lot going in this book for me. I loved Mark Soomon. He's this great guy with a history to prove it and a heart that is hurting.  HThen he meets Emma DeWitt crying in front of his Villa in Barefoot Bay.  Emma's been jilted almost at the alter by the man who also her boss. Now she has no job and no husband. Thinking she could still enjoy the resort where they were supposed to honeymoon it all crashes in on her when she finds out her ex cancelled before she arrived to enjoy it. Mark takes her in even though she looks a bit crazy and i swear you can feel the click between the two of them. Mark's there for a Mimosa Key high school reunion but he finds himself helping Emma with her fears while she helps with his and enjoying every minute. Of course there can never been smooth sailing in a story so it's got some drama to go with the fun. Seriously one of the best books i have read in a while. If i could have had the time i would have read it from cover to cover without a break for anything. For me seriously that good. There are peeks at who tho the next two books in this 3 pack series will be about so you can look forward to that as well. I for one am excited to see what is coming next!

eARC Book review: Beyond Ecstasy (Beyond #8) by Kit Rocha

The next-to-last book in the bestselling BEYOND series...

The O’Kanes have a reputation for working hard and playing harder—except for Hawk. He joined the gang with one goal: to ensure his family’s survival through the impending war with Eden. It’s been years since he had the luxury of wanting anything for himself. Now, he wants Jeni. From the first moment he saw her, he’s been obsessed with making her his. Not for a night—forever.

Jeni’s been lusting after the former smuggler for months, but he keeps shutting her down. She’s almost given up on getting him in her bed when he offers her the last thing she ever expected—a collar. Accepting it means belonging to him, body and soul. It’s a reckless gamble, but Jeni can’t resist the chance to slip under Hawk’s armor.

The only thing more shocking than the dark, dangerous pleasure they discover is how right it feels. But falling in love is even more reckless when forever is far from guaranteed. Because they aren’t just at war, they’re out of time—and every breath could be their last.

Wow! Breathtaking! The Beyond series is almost done with Sector 4 being the main focus. It's gearing up for some dramatic stuff and Beyond Ecstasy is the beginning of that magnificent build up i believe. Hawk is not from Sector 4 but has adopted it as his home. Doesn't mean he's forgotten his family on the farms. With war brewing he's also thinking finally about what he wants. Jeni has been wanting Hawk since she met him but he hasn't taken her up on what she has offered him until now. Not only is the war with the city brewing but there is so much going on in the sectors and now Hawk is trying to find his way with Jeni and do his best to protect everyone he cares about. This book has a lot going on and it interesting and normal in places and crazy exciting in other places. For me it was a thrill a minute. Many shocking things and drama, drama and excitement. Can't wait to see how Kit Rocha wraps up this series and incorporates the spin off to the next series in the final book for Sector 4.
