Jake Grady loves Bull's Hollow ranch and all the challenges and hard work it entails. But the past year hasn't been easy—his father's good name has been tarnished, and new financial problems are threatening to destroy everything the Gradys have built. Performing live under a stage name has become his escape, a way of blowing off some serious steam.

Accountant Paige Reynolds found Jake's guitar-playing alter ego intriguing, but her connection with the real Jake sends her attraction into overdrive. When she's summoned to make order out of the chaotic paper trail at Bull's Hollow, he sets her world a-rocking—both in bed and out. But Paige has a plan; she's determined to create her own path for the future, but is soon left scrambling for firmer ground.

Good news about Jake's potential singing career is followed by the revelation of another family secret, one that has him questioning whether he belongs at Bull's Hollow at all. But leaving the ranch would mean leaving his family…and Paige. How much is he willing to give up for a real shot at fame?

This is the 2nd book in the Grady Legacy series. After reading book one i wondered what Jake's story was. He was a bit of a mystery. Jake is a lot more than he seems. In book one he came across as a bit lazy and irresponsible but now you can see that's not true. At the beginning of this book he's struggling with his best friend hating him, the ranches financial troubles and a brother who can't seem to take him seriously. He's still reeling from what his mother did and the results of him keeping her secrets.  Then there is Paige. Her past is not a good and happy one. Her mother in prison and a dad who didn't ever really want her. It seems to follow her around no matter what she does. Her one good point in  her life is her aunt Reba who offers her a job in her accounting business.  Paige gets assigned to be the new accountant for the Grady's to sort out the mess their financials are in. Jake and Paige hit it off right away. Paige wasn't looking for forever but she finds herself in love pretty quick. Jake  seems to be feeling the same way but when the band he's in gets offered a record deal he's not sure their relationship can survive long term.  This was a fun and sometimes intense story. Jake has had to deal with so much in the past year and meeting Paige is his saving grace. She calms him and supports him in everything. Paige is kind of a broken woman in a lot of ways. Her pasts haunts her almost daily and she puts on a front to protect herself but she still manages to open herself up to Jake. Of course when a big secret is revealed Jake almost blows everything. This story will entertain you and also find it's way into your heart by the last page.  Can't wait to see what happens with Gabe, Ben and Jake's half brother in the next book.
