Book review: Air Bound (Sister's of the Heart #3) by Christine Feehan

Available now!

For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating 'patterns' in the air around her-whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.

Airiana fled the program, but she couldn't outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn't about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there..

This is the 3rd Sister of the Heart book in the spin off series from the Drake Sister's. I loved the Drake sisters and am enjoying the Sister's of the Heart series as well. We are getting to see one by one the Prekenskii brother invade Sea Haven for one reason or another to end up with one of the sister's. Maxim makes his appearance briefly when he kidnaps Airiana ( love the play on her name with her ability).  This story takes off fast and is fast paced and action packed.   Maxim realizes pretty quickly who Airiana could mean to him. Scares him to death at first and he struggles off and on with what he should do even after he marks her. Airiana is a strong lead. She's afraid but pushes past that to be a asset in the story instead of a helpless female. Even though there was plenty of danger is the Drake sisters series i think this one is less predictable and more adventurous that the Drake sisters. I do think though that this felt like from page one is was mach speed throughout the story with not enough dips into the characters getting to know each other. It happens toward the end and quickly  and next thing you know the book wraps up. I was hoping for more of the other regular characters than i got. Still a fabulous book for my reading enjoyment. Waiting for book 4 now and wondering like everyone else when Blythe will get her story and we find out why she is already marked and what it means that she is a cousin to the Drakes and no one is sure of her powers. Eek!! Not to late to start reading this series!!
