Free ebook Friday! Passion to Die for by Marilyn Pappano
"I wish to God you were dead."
Little did Ellie Chase know those would be the last words she ever spoke to her estranged mother. When Martha's body was found the next morning, all eyes were on Ellie...who couldn't remember what she'd done that night. So when Tommy Maricci—the man she refused to let herself love—came to her rescue, she couldn't say no.
Tommy believed in his former girlfriend's innocence—no matter how damning the evidence against her was. She may have broken his heart, but he took her into his home for protection. Because if Ellie wasn't the killer, someone had set her up. And Tommy refused to let anyone hurt the woman he loved.

Book review: If I Were You (book 1 Inside out Trilogy) by Lisa Renee Jones
If I Were You
FIFTY SHADES OF GREY MEETS BASIC INSTINCTS
Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away.
He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do.
I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away.
He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.
I'm not even sure where to start with this book. Took me longer to read than any book normally would. The fact that it's a serial trilogy hurts it for me. I don't like having to wait to see how it ends. If you like to be held in suspense waiting until the next book comes out your fine. Sara is a school teacher on summer break. Her friend elopes and runs off on a honeymoon with a mysterious man we never meet. Sara is concerned about this but there is nothing she can really do. Her friend gives her the keys to a storage unit she bought at auction and it must be cleaned out. She's told do whatever she wants with the stuff inside. There are journals from a woman inside that are dark and steamy and sexual in nature. Little bit dangerous and scary as well. Sara decides she's going to try and find this woman that wrote them and see what happened to her. She goes to the art gallery the woman worked at and lucks into her job. ( she's qualified for it btw) She meets two men. The owner of the gallery Mark who is a bit demanding and controlling and a tad scary. She also meets Chris a artist who is dark and damaged by things in his past. Most of the book is spent on Sara's relationship with Chris. You get to see bits and pieces of him and Sara as they spend time together. The whole time though it seems as if perhaps Mark and Chris are playing a game of one upmanship and using her to do it. Sara really makes no headway at all on where the missing woman is. By the time she does actually try it's the end of the book and your left with a cliffhanger. Honestly i was tossed and turned around on this book. The first 1/4 wasn't as interesting. After that it really took off with Chris and Sara getting to know each other a little. I want to say I loved Chris and hope i won't be disappointed in the end. There are lots of secrets and you get tiny glimpses into these as you read along. The sex scenes were phenomenal. I think the reason i had such a hard time sometimes while reading is it is a 3 part series so it continues on in pieces til the end of book 3. Therefore the pacing will be different than say a book that has a beginning and ending. Will i read books 2 and 3? Absolutely! The book conflicted me as much as the characters in the book were conflicted. lol This is a book series that you can sink your teeth into and enjoy the ride until the very end. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Picks starrs for If I were you by Lisa Renee Jones.

Book review: How you Remind me (novella) by Julie Leto
Rock n’ roll musician Shaw Tyler has a secret…he’s spent an amazing night in Kate Schaffer’s bed. Trouble is, she doesn’t remember a thing. Since then, Kate has avoided any personal interactions with him, keeping everything strictly business. He wants to remind her about what happened–and what didn’t–but first, he has to get her see him for who he really is.
Kate used to live a wild and crazy life, drinking and partying to offset her stressful hours as a corporate attorney. After a scary black-out, Kate cleaned up her act and changed careers. Since then, she’s had a more stable life…but also a more boring one. She longs for a sexy liaison like in the old days and who better to hook up with than the wily musician who flirts with her all the time?
Trouble is, Shaw knows things about her…intimate things. Once she figures out how he learned her most personal fantasies, will she let him into her heart or show him the door?
Wow this is one jam packed sexy little novella by Julie Leto. I recently read the Janelle Denison novella Hard to Resist that goes with How you Remind me. You don't have to read them both but it is a lot of fun. Kate Schaffer was a bit of a partier it seems then a scary night where she doesn't remember a thing flips that coin and she becomes prim, proper and respectful. Cuts out all the fun and becomes all business. Quits her job and goes to work for her friend as a party event planner. Shaw just happens to be the man who saved her that night she doesn't remember. Problem is she doesn't remember him either but that night made her extremely cautious and her past from when she was younger makes her want to stay away from Shaw and what she perceives him to be. Now she offers Shaw something he very much wants to take but first he has to set the record straight and confess what really happened that night. This is a short sexy 45 page book. Perfect quick little read that i really enjoyed and of course wished for it to be longer. I would very much enjoy more from this author. 5 out of 5 Modokker Book stars for How You Remind Me by Julie Leto.

Demon Hunting in the Deep South
Demon-slayers, evil forces, and an uber-bitchy ghost . . .

He’s blond, breathtaking, and the most lethal of all his kin, but after years of teasing, Evie is wary of anyone who swears her plus-size self is beautiful. However, having Ansgar all over her is sparking outrageous powers Evie didn’t know she had. And she’ll face any ultimate evil to keep this sexy slayer in this dimension and in her bed for all eternity…

1. WHERE??? Do you get your ideas? This might be a question authors hear a lot but after reading your books i have got to know! lol
Everywhere! Seriously, I get ideas from all sorts of people on the street, places, books, television, music, news articles—as zany as I get, I can never get crazier than real life! I read a piece in the news the other day about a woman who makes diapers for chickens, and I thought, That’s going in a book! There are all kinds of places in Alabama to get inspiration, like the Rattlesnake Rodeo in Opp, the local mud bog, and the Peanut Festival in Dothan. Also, I like to brainstorm with writer friends and they come up with some dandies! And, my family is certifiably nuts, so that helps. For instance, I had a great uncle who was nearly seven feet tall. When he died, his sister, Bertha Mae (I kid you not, that was her name!) came into the funeral home and fell out on the floor in a fit, because she was convinced my mother had cut his legs off to buy a cheaper coffin. They had to open the box and show the fool woman that my uncle still had his legs. I mean, that’s for real and that’s what I grew up with!
2. Would people who know you say your as witty and funny in person as you come across in your writing?
I think so. I was one of those awkward kids—tall and gangly, with big feet. It was either make people laugh or be the butt of their jokes. My dad had a very dry, charming sense of humor, and I loved being around him. Boy, he made me laugh. In my day job, I’m an appellate criminal lawyer, which means I see bad stuff all day long. You develop a sense of humor as a defense mechanism, I think, when you read murder, rape and mayhem. It’s either laugh or cry!
3. There are a lot of southernisms ( if that term is accurate) in your book. Is this truly how it is in your family and for you growing up?
Oh, yes, I love quaint and funny sayings, and superstitions. My dad was a real card and cracked me up. My mother, on the other hand, is a very proper, retired English teacher without a sense of humor. The bawdiness comes from my teenage years when I ran with a crowd of kids that liked to try and gross one another out. Hey, it was a small town and there was nothing else to do, but ride around and drink beer, and talk trash!
4. What is the most important thing you want people to take away from one of your books when they read them? How do you want them described?
I hope my books allow people to escape and that they make people laugh. I aim for my books to be entertaining, fast paced, and romantic. I try to write sex scenes that are emotional and draw the reader into the characters’ love story. My goal is to write multidimensional, sympathetic characters, and I want my characters to come alive for the reader, for them to be as real to the reader as they are to me. That would be wonderful.
5. What do you like to read when you have time to enjoy a book?
I love romance, both contemporary and historical. Janet Evanovich cracks me up, Loretta Chase makes me want to throw myself in front of a train, because she is such a wonderful writer, and I long to be at Hogwarts with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse series is freaking brilliant, and now I am reading the third book of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, which is on HBO as A Game of Thrones. He’s another one that makes me want to turn in my laptop, he’s so gifted!
Lexi George is an appellate lawyer by day and a romance writer by night. She started her writing career in the third grade penning bad poetry about hydrangea bushes and Erik the Red. Ironically, she ended up marrying a Viking, a Northern boy who came to Alabama with the Air Force and stayed.
She wrote poetry all through high school and college. And then she decided to go to law school and the muse left in a huff. The muse hated law school.
The muse returned when Lexi’s oldest child was a toddler and Lexi has been writing ever since. After piling up an impressive number of rejections on her first book, a fantasy romance that she worked on for more than ten years, Lexi decided to try her hand at something else. The result was Demon Hunting in Dixie, a paranormal romance about demon hunters in the Deep South.
The second book in the series Demon Hunting in the Deep South, was released on July 31, 2012. Lexi has a novella in the Kensington anthology, So I Married A Demon Slayer. Book three, Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar, will be released in January of 2013.
The muse is very happy, and so is Lexi.

Lisa Renee Jones If I were you Blog tour! Interview and giveaway!
I was lucky enough to pose 5 questions to the fabulous Lisa Renee Jones recently and be a part of her blog tour for her new release If I Were You. Below are the questions with her answers. Enjoy! Giveaway info at the bottom of this post.
I need him.
1. What genre's do you write currently and what is one genre you would like to try your hand at that you haven't yet?
I pretty much write all genres but historical and I enjoy them all. I do very much enjoy suspense and IF I WERE YOU is first person. I liked writing first person far more than I thought I would. My December Urban Fantasy series THE AMBER BROWN CHRONICLES is also first person.
2. Self publishing has been gaining ground with aspiring and established authors. Have you tried this yet and how has it worked out for you? Any quick advice for anyone wanting to try this?
I am enjoying self publishing and feel its a great way for authors to spread their wings. It also allows us to see what readers are hungering for and response now rather than in 18 months as traditional publishing does. My advice is to get your work edited and get a good cover artists but make sure you do your research and don't spend a fortune. There are affordable quality services and there are plenty of sharks taking advantage of authors as well.
3. How do you make your characters real? For me if i feel like i could know the character it really enhancing the story. How do you flesh them out?
I do character arcs for my characters and draft out their history, their family, the past experiences, likes, and dislikes. I need to know these things because they make the person who they are.
4. What do you like to read when you have time? What TV shows do you enjoy? Freetime activities??
I'm a gym rat so I spend lots of time at the gym where I ironically love to watch the food network!:) I love the movies and DH and I have shows we really love. Supernatural is a favorite. We loved Entourage and I hated to see it end. I hope there will be a movie.
5 Lastly what's coming up for you? Books? Appearances??
IF I WERE YOU is out August 24th and it's a very special book to me. This is the book that I feel really defines me as an author.

When he arrives in Dubai, he discovers his target is Sasha Zablosky—a woman he knows all too well, and who has haunted him ever since their one unforgettable night together. But he finds Sasha reluctant to leave her Sheik, the only true friend she’s ever known. Only Alexei can’t give her a choice.
A woman of deception…
With their yearning roused by intrigue, Alexei and Sasha can no longer resist and spend night after night in forbidden pleasure. Soon Alexei finds himself falling for her even as he battles a shadowy menace to protect her. But Sasha is no innocent. She has a past darker than she could ever admit or that Alexei could ever forgive. And it is about to explode into her life once more. Now, as the lies they tell themselves—and each other—pull them deeper into a perilous desire, what began as simple passion becomes a love certain to destroy them and end the lives of countless innocents.
This is my first Tori St Claire book. You never know what to expect when reading a new to me author. It's kind of exciting but a little scary because i hate finding that i don't care for the book. Don't we all want a winner when we read a book? Tori St Claire gives up a sexy, seductive, action packed book with Lie to Me! Both Sasha and Alexei ( love that name, so sexy) have some pretty big inner demons raging around in their heads. Unfortunately neither one really tells the other one the black parts of their pasts. It's a lasting barrier throughout the book til the end. There's a lot of berating of themselves by themselves and a lot of misunderstandings. The sex scenes were many and super hot. I think that there could have been fewer of them though. It was a bit to much sometimes. Not that those scenes weren't superbly written it just seemed with all the action going on that the sex scenes took away from the pacing of the book a bit. I hope i explained that OK. I really enjoyed the story though and i thought a time or two i could see where it was going but i was sadly mistaken. I hate when you can figure out exactly where the author is going in a suspenseful book. I loved all the secondary characters as well. It was exciting and unpredictable and the ending was pretty perfect for me. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick Stars for Lie to me by Tori St Claire.

Book review: Hammer it Home (Powertools series) By Jayne Rylan ( 18 and older)
When times get tough, the tough stage one scorching hot intervention.
Morgan is happy that her best friend Kate is expecting the crew’s littlest member, but helping renovate a room for a nursery is more than she can bear. Baby furniture and pastel paint are a painful reminder that she and Joe can’t—and will never—conceive. There’s no hiding it from the rest of the close-knit crew, either.
True to their unique brand of love, the gang rallies to find a non-traditional solution to alleviate their friends’ suffering. Not with a cold, clinical visit to a sperm donation clinic, but delivering it the old fashioned way. With a healthy dose of searing passion.
But soon after Morgan’s scorching hot night with her husband’s four best friends, an accident threatens the life of one of those men. The challenges that lie ahead will test crew’s powerful bond to the limit—and their long-standing promise to take care of each other through good, bad, and sexy times. Whatever it takes…
If you have ever read a Jayne Rylan book you know she writes some really HOT stuff. The Power Tools series is regular erotica ramped up a notch. Lots of scorching hot sex scenes. Anything goes and trust me it does go. As the series has gone on book to book they've added the 4 women and become couples with one being a threesome. Now one is pregnant and another wants to me but for medical reasons it hasn't been able to happen and the crew as they call themselves decides to help out. If you want to step out of your comfort zone a little bit an live in fantasy this is a great series for that. This is not a lengthy book only 128 pages but it's full of fun hot sexy with enough story and heart to pull it together. This one gets really serious for a bit too so it's not ALL fun and games. I like that though there is this crazy sex thing going on you still get characters that care and love each other. I think that's why i have liked the series so much. Want to get lost for a couple hours? Jayne Rylon will take you away with this book. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book picks for Hammer it Home by Jayne Rylon. Note: This is the last book in the series but there is another spin off series starting next year and you get introduced to two of the character in this last Powertools book.

Book review: Copy That by Helen Kay Dimon
Available now!
HE GAVE NEW MEANING TO THE TERM DOUBLE AGENT
Returning from his latest Border Patrol assignment, Jeremy Hill seeks sanctuary in his twin brother's home. The last thing he expects to find is and armed man already inside, or Meredith Samms, a gorgeous tenant caught in the cross fire. Then he discovers that the gunman's attack is meant for his twin brother, who is nowhere in sight, and Jeremy must take matter into his own hands. Searching for his brother while trying to protect this girl next door, Jeremy finds himself caught up in the danger he'd become all too familiar with. in his world, everyone's a target and anyone can be a suspect, so Jeremy has no room for emotions. But what Meredith stirs within him may complicate this unexpected mission to the point of no return...
I literally bought this book today while checking out the book isle at Walmart. I was lucky enough to meet Helen Kay this past June and hear her talk at a conference. I think this is only my second book by her but i saw this cover with the um..... sexy TWINS on it and so that made me pick it up and read the back cover. I'm a bit of a sucker for military guys so i decided i need to read it. Sat down when i got home and started reading. This is kind of like two stories in one. It starts with Jeremy Hill meeting his twin brother Garrett's upstairs neighbor Meredith when someone breaks into his brothers home and she gets caught in the middle of it. Later we finally meet Jeremy's twin Garrett and his estranged fiance' Sara. What follows is a action packed story with the two couples and Garrett's team dodging the bad guys and trying to figure out who the mole on the team is. Someone is telling the baddies exactly where they are and what they are doing. Questions is who is the mole and which brother is the bad guy after. With both men having numerous enemies due to their jobs it's hard to say. With twin brothers it's double the sexiness in this Harlequin Intrigue. Can the pair of Alpha men sort out their hearts from their need to protect to get the women?? Fun read! 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Picks for Copy That by Helen Kay Dimon.

Book review: Hard to Resist( The Girl Most likely to..) (novella) by Janelle Denison
Available now!
Hard To Resist
Ever wonder what happened to the girl most likely to… Give a Guy a Second Chance?
Renee Griffen always did have a thing for Jake Copeland, especially since they’d been each other’s “firsts” in high school. But now, ten years later, he’s offering her a sexy “do-over” of that less-than-satisfying night, and Renee finds his offer hard to refuse. Jake might have blundered their first time together, but he’s all about second chances, and this time he’s playing for keeps.
This is a short novella and follow up to her story in Guy Most Likely to Resist novella. You don't have to read the first novella to read this one though. I haven't... yet. I plan on it though. Renee Griffen reconnects with Jake Copeland 10 years after high school when they find each other in the social media website Facebook. They were each other's first time before graduation and then went their separate ways. Renee is a world traveler and travel agent and Jake works in a marketing firm. They used skype to talk and see each other and hot make out sessions. Problem is she lives in Chicago and he lives in Atlanta The ten year class reunion is coming up and they use that for a good reason to see each other in person and redo their first time together. Hopefully with betterlonger lasting results. Both are wondering if the others feelings are more than just old friends and it all falls apart when Renee find out a big secret Jake has been keeping. This is a quick sexy read that is a very enjoyable fun hour worth of reading. I would love to see this as a longer book but even with the short amount of pages i didn't feel cheated but i definitely wanted more. 5 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick Stars for Hard to Resist by Janelle Denison

Book review: An Inconvenient Affair by Catherine Mann
Available now
Sometimes wrong feels oh-so right…
Hillary Wright has always been a magnet for Mr. Wrong. Her latest left her in trouble with the law, and to clear her name, she’s agreed to an undercover sting—as the “date” for infamous Troy Donavan. The notorious hacker is now a government good guy…and a sexy billionaire playboy. Troy has a reputation as the sort of man she’s vowed to avoid, and his secretiveness adds fuel to Hillary’s distrust. But with his kisses like molten sin, her fierce resistance is melting. And being sensible in the face of such overpowering desire is just not an option.
The Alpha Brotherhood: Bound by an oath to make amends, these billionaires can conquer anything… but love.
I just recently started reading Catherine Mann and i have discovered whether she writes a full size book or one of these smaller Harlequin books with around 200 pages she knows how to pack them with exceptional writing and plenty of action. Poor Hilary always seems to have the worst taste in men and her latest boy friend has gotten her in trouble with the law. Now she's trying to help out the government to put him behind bars and clear any suspicion that she was helping him. This puts her in contact with Troy who has a bit of a sketchy past of his own he can't live down. Busted at 15 for hacking into files to expose some corrupt men got him sent off to military reform school. It ended up helping him find some really great stand up friends and a purpose for his life. A family since his own didn't seem to care enough about him. Troy falls for Hilary pretty quick but he has trust issues and social issues from his childhood that cause him problems when dealing with her. Hiliary has some trust issues herself as her mom was and is a alcoholic and her dad was her enabler until he passed away. Her one bright spot was her sister. They've tried to be there for each other over the years. After a several great days together and building a little trust between them while waiting for the bad guy to get caught it all falls apart with one lie. I loved Troy. You feel for him and Hilary with their trouble childhoods and their parents failings of them. Catherine Mann paints a clear picture of their pasts and makes you roots for them. Really enjoyed this past paced book. You feel like your getting more than 200 pages the story is so rich in detail. You also get introduced to Troys fellow reform school friends and hopefully we get their stories in the near future. Can't think of anything i didn't like about this book. 5 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for An Inconvenient Affair by Catherine Mann.

Book review: Big Sky Mountain by Linda Lael Miller
With his rugged good looks, vast wealth and family name, hell-raiser Hutch Carmody is still the golden boy of Parable, Montana. But he's done some growing up—making peace with his illegitimate half brother and inheriting half of Whisper Creek Ranch, which should have been all his. These days, Hutch knows there are some things money can't buy: like the heart of loving, ladylike divorcée Kendra Shepherd.
Kendra's quiet mansion reminds her of what she wants most—a devoted husband and the pitter-patter of little feet. She can't get Hutch Carmody out of her mind. But a rough-and-tumble cowboy like Hutch, coming home for family dinner? Seems crazy! Then again, crazier dreams have become reality under the vast Montana sky.
This is book 2 in Linda Lael Miller's latest cowboy series. This book is about former lovers Hutch Carmody and Kendra Sheperd. We get introduced to them in book 1 Big Sky Country. They have a past and their relationship ended after a series of miscommunication and trust issues. Kendra ended up married to another man and Hutch was left broken hearted. Kendra always thought that he didn't love her because he didn't fight for her. It all ended badly for Kendra when the man she married left her and then she found out he had a baby with another woman while married to her. He dies but not before asking Kendra to find and adopt the girl which of course she does. Both Hutch and Kendra have issues from when they were kids that gave them problems with trust. This is what led to their relationship falling apart. Now both are trying to face those demons. This story is about Hutch and Kendra both finding their way to each other. I loved how Kendra takes Madison in and adopts her and Hutch loves her right away too and accepts her even knowing who her dad was. Hutch got me pretty quick. For all his faults the man has a big heart and he lets it show. The beginning of this book was actually kind of boring for me and didn't really pick up til after i got about 1/4 of the way through. From then on I enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing how the next book in the series plays out with Sheiff Boone Taylor and his neighbor Tara Kendall ( city girl turned chicken farmer) . We've been getting peeks at them in both books so far. Looks like it will be a fun and interesting book. Linda always gets some of the best covers for her cowboys and this one definitely follows suit. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for Big Sky Mountain by Linda Lael Miller.

Book Review: Sweet Talk by Julie Garwood
Available starting today 8/7/2012
Sweet Talk
When FBI agent Grayson Kincaid first encounters Olivia MacKenzie, she makes quite an impression.
The beautiful, tough, young attorney has stumbled into the middle of an FBI sting operation and has reduced it to chaos. Months of surveillance and careful planning down the drain, Kincaid's partner is furious and lets Olivia know that she's ticked off the wrong guy. After all, he's FBI.
Olivia isn't intimidated by his partner's bullying because she's something even scarier...she's IRS. And working for the IRS isn't for the faint of heart. She's on the trail of an elaborate Ponzi scheme, one that threatens to ruin the lives of naive and unsuspecting victims, and one she has personal reasons to be angry about. But after she asks questions of the wrong people, her life is suddenly endangered. She's accustomed to fighting for the underdog but being vulnerable herself is a very different story. Smart enough to know when she need reinforcements, she looks to Grayson Kincaid.
Together they make an excellent team to fight corruption, but Olivia is also fighting the immediate and intense attraction she feels for Agent Kincaid, and that may be a battle she is bound to lose.
Anyone who knows me know i am a huge Julie Garwood fan. It makes reading her new books a lot of fun but a little scary too. Of course i hope to love them but there is the chance i won't. I really like how Julie connects her books. In this new one they are at one of the Hamilton hotels and Grayson knows and speaks to Aidan from one of her earlier books Murder List. Grayson is also the cousin of Sam from a couple of books ago, Sizzle. This book starts with 4 little girls who are gravely ill and form a bond because of their shared pain and suffering. They all survive and the book begins with Olivia going to a job interview because she thinks she might lose her job at the IRS to cut backs. She ends up getting attacked by the guy interviewing her and his body guard. FBI agent Grayson Kincaid ( love that name) comes to the rescue when he tackles the body guard and saves her. That's how they meet! Olivia had a hard childhood. She spent most of it in the hospital seriously ill and none of her family every came to see her until her aunt Emma moved to be near her and became like a surrogate mom to her. The three girls she was hospitalized with are her best friends even now. She grew up to become a lawyer and she uses that to help kids in need of legal representation. Which sometimes gets her into dangerous situations.Outside of that she's trying to put her father in prison for what she thinks is a big Ponzi scheme. She just can't seem to find the evidence she needs to prove it. Somehow the guy her job interview turned fist fight with has something to do with her father and between threats from him and her family and her dad lawyer and well several other people, her life is in danger. Grayson of course is going to protect her at any cost. Grayson for his part doesn't have to work. He's got plenty of money and at this time is caring for his 9 year old nephew. (sweet huh?) I like how this story played out. I was really hoping we'd get a little more Aidan though instead of just the one appearance at the beginning because i have been hoping for a long time that she'd get back to him and Cordy from her previous book Murder List. A couple of the sex scenes were the kind you might roll your eyes at although a couple others were really darn hot. I love epilogues but the one Julie did here was kind of me'h for me. Didn't add anything really. What i really liked what Grayson and Olivia as a couple. I also loved some of the character names for Grayson and Ronan. The one name i didn't like but hope if this is going to continue on with the other girls is Olivia's one friend Collins. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for Sweet Talk by Julie Garwood.

Modokker Book Picks Interview with Beth Williamson and a giveaway!
Recently i was lucky enough to pose 5 questions to the lovely award winning author Beth Williamson. If you read my blog you might remember I have read and reviewed several of her books. She writes under the names Beth Williamson and Emma Lang. Read below to find out what i learned.
Bio:
Beth Williamson, who also writes as Emma Lang, is an award-winning, bestselling author of both historical and contemporary romances. Her books range from sensual to scorching hot. She is a Career Achievement Award Nominee in Erotic Romance by Romantic Times Magazine, in both 2009 and 2010.
Questions with Beth Williamson
1. What is the one thing you would want people who have never read your books to know about you and your books?
I'd like them to expect to hold my hand and go on a journey with me, filled with emotions, highs and lows, humor, some smexy times, and eventually, a happy ever after that will make them sigh. I also have an obsession with cowboys, but it's mostly a secret thing. ;)
2. How do you keep track of all your characters comings and goings. Especially when it's a series? Do you keep a notebook a bulletin board?
I keep a file for each series and add to it every time I write a book. Things like their birthday, how old they are, eye color, hair color, even nipple color (hey that can be important). I refer to it all the time as I write the books in the series.
3. What do you like to read yourself when you’re not writing? Favorite genre and author? Do you have a favorite book?
I read all kinds of books and genres. My favorite is historical romance of any timeframe (especially the old west – surprise!). My favorite book – that’s a toss up between ONLY HIS by Elizabeth Lowell or THE STAND by Stephen King.
4. Books into movies? Which one of your books would you like to see made into a movie? Who would play the leads?
I play this game all the time. I would love to see THE BOUNTY, my first Malloy series book, made into a movie. Tyler and Nicky – my all-time favorite couple. I see David Boreanaz playing Tyler – big with dark hair and piercing eyes, a hardass. Yessss! For Nicky, the actress has to be tall and kick-ass and with reddish brown hair – I like Emma Stone. She’s got the moxie to pull it off.
Modokker: I love that you have this all planned out in your head. Perhaps one day it will happen!
5. What's up next for you? Books? appearances??
Up next will be CIRCLE EIGHT: CALEB (release date coming soon, but early 2013), ENDLESS HEART in print in April, 2013. I have two other books I can’t announce yet for 2013 (sorry they’re sekrit!). Book Review: Demon Hunting in the Deep South by Lexi George
Available Now!
Demon Hunting in the Deep South
The warrior and the wallflower . . .
Shy, self-conscious Evie Douglass tries to stay under the radar, especially when her nemesis Meredith Peterson, aka The Death Starr, is anywhere around. Meredith and her bitch posse of skinny girlfriends have tormented Evie since the seventh grade, calling her names like The Whale and Thunder Thighs.
Evie tries to stay invisible, but that’s not an easy thing for a plus-sized gal to do in a small town like Hannah, Alabama. She finds it doubly hard to avoid Meredith’s wrath once she takes a job at the lumber mill. You see, Meredith’s husband is Evie’s new boss. Translation: more torture time for The Death Starr.
Evie thinks things couldn’t get much worse until the morning she finds Meredith’s bloody body sprawled across her desk. Typical Meredith, she gets herself dead mere days after a very public scene in which Meredith accuses Evie of having an affair with her husband. Worse, the murder weapon is found in Evie’s car.
Suddenly, Evie is the Number One suspect in a sensational murder case. But she’s got bigger problems. Hannah is infested with demons—soul sucking, body snatching creatures of evil—and, for some reason, they want Evie. The only thing standing between Evie and death or possible possession is a hunky blond demon slayer named Ansgar.
Ansgar is a Dalvahni warrior, a supernaturally gorgeous race whose sole purpose is to hunt down and capture rogue demons.
Evie could almost swear that Ansgar is interested in more than demons. He seems interested in her. Ridiculous, of course, because he’s sex on two legs and she’s…
Well, she’s Whaley Douglass.
To add to Evie’s troubles, Meredith doesn’t even have the decency to stay dead. She shows back up as a ghost and she’s more of a beyotch than ever. Meredith has deathnesia—she can’t remember who killed her—leaving Evie to solve the mystery herself, or go to jail for a murder she didn’t commit.
Oh boy! What can I say about this book? It's fast, it's fun and it's funny!! I have no idea where Lexi George gets her humor but my hope is to one day meet her so i can find out what she's like in person. This book is loaded with sassy southern-isms. Some i have to admit i didn't fully get at first but that might be because I'm a northerner. The Demon hunters who are called the Dalvahni are hot sexy warrior men thousands of years old. They can't get drunk of liquor but crazy stupid on chocolate. Personally i find that might be the more fun way to get feeling buzzed. lol This is the 2nd book in the series although there is a novella in between. Demon Hunting in Dixie is book one. You should read it but it's not totally necessary to understand book 2. You should just read it because it's so hilariously funny. Book 2 which is this one is entitled Demon Hunting in the Deep south is equally funny. This one involves Addy's ( from book 1) best friend Evie. She is accused of murder and is in need of protection from Ansgar the hot demon hunter brother of Brand ( from book 1). Ansgar had to change Evie at the end of book one and took away her memories of him because he felt he wasn't worthy of her. He finds out pretty quick what a mistake that was. I have found myself quoting lines to my husband while reading. It's that kind of book. I only WISH i had the kind of imagination to write a book like this. Lexi manages to write a book that has a serious side but still so damn funny at the same time. Before i forget if you read book one Connall the leader of the Dalvahni is talked about. He finally makes a appearance in this book and it's majorly exciting as he appears at a very important and funnest parts of the book. I am hoping that he is going to be a major character in the next book. Something tells me he would be a lot of fun! In conclusion. This book has it all. Action, suspense, demons and demon hunters and some of the hottest sex scenes ever! I loved every page! 5 out of 5 Modokker Book Picks for Demon Hunting in the Deep South by Lexi George. If you like humorous paranormal with hot demon hunters this is the book for you.

Sexy Heroes! Carrie Ann Ryan blog tour! Giveaway!
Please welcome author Carrie Ann Ryan to Modokker Book Picks
Sexy Heroes
When you read a romance novel you're guaranteed a few things. If it's a true romance, will get your happy ever after. You get a heroine you'll want to be or want to throw off a cliff. It really depends on my mood. *wink* You’ll find yourself cheering up sometimes, and fanning her face at other times. He lives to the emotional roller coaster of having these two characters fall mild while the outside world may try to pull them apart. You'll gasp, clinch the side of your book or Kindle, sit on the edge of your seat suspense.
And if you're reading a good romance, the find a sexy hero. Sure, he may not be sexy on the outside, but he could be damn well sexy on the inside. Reading a romance novel is an escape, we know it. Look outside of the people around you, you know that not every heroine and hero is real life. You know that we see in real life, may not be the perfect romance. And that's okay, that's why we dive into these worlds and me find new people. Life isn't perfect, and neither are our heroes.
Sure they could have eight pack abs, that chiseled jaw, strong muscles, the eyes that twinkle or smolder. They could have that growly voice and that alpha male tendency to take over. But then they could be tortured, scarred, sweet, beta, an ass….
They could be anything.
And that's what makes him sexy. No matter how sexy is on the outside, what we leave with after reading is how sexy he is on the inside. It's how he takes care of his heroine. She needs to know that yes he can protect her, but she needs to build a protector self. And he needs to let it happen. He needs to know that she can be the one to protect him.
And he needs to be man enough to let it happen.
That's what makes a sexy hero. The duality of being that strong man who cares. So yes he could have this ice blue eyes, the black wings dipped in blue, and chiseled caramel colored skin (yes, I’m talking to you, my hero Shade from Dust of My Wings), but if you didn't have the personality to back that up, he wouldn't be as sexy to me.
So what do you think defines a sexy hero? Visit his looks or the way he acts smart or is it both. Or does it really matter?

Dust of My Wings Blurb
Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?
Neat freak lab tech, Lily Banner lives her life as any ordinary human. She’s dedicated to her work and loves to hang out with her friends at Dante’s Circle, their local bar. When she discovers a strange blue dust at work she meets a handsome stranger holding secrets – and maybe her heart. But after a close call with a thunderstorm, she may not be as ordinary as she thinks.
Shade Griffin is a warrior angel sent to Earth to protect the supernaturals’ secrets. One problem, he can’t stop leaving dust in odd places around town. Now he has to find every ounce of his dust and keep the presence of the supernatural a secret. But after a close encounter with a sexy lab tech and a lightning quick connection, his millennia old loyalties may shift and he could lose more than just his wings in the chaos.
Dust of My Wings Excerpt
“Hi.” Shade smiled and tilted his head.
“Hi,” she breathed.
“You look beautiful, Lily.” He tucked a stray hair behind her ear and she shivered.
“You do too.” She blushed again. Soon she’d be Crayola red. “I mean you look handsome.”
He traced her jaw with a calloused finger. “Thank you. Are you ready to go?”
She swallowed hard. “Uh huh.”
Okay, she really had to remember the English language. This was getting embarrassing.
“Okay then.” He trailed his hand down her arm and wrapped his palm around hers. His warm skin felt like heaven against hers.
She shook her head, clearing her thoughts. How was she supposed to get through a whole date if she couldn’t even formulate thoughts to get out of the door?
With a nod, she gripped his hand tighter and closed the door behind her. He led her to his bike and she smiled.
“I love it, Shade.”
He gave a huge grin. “Thanks. This is my baby. No matter where I am, I try and take her with me.” He rubbed the leather seat and an irrational urge to knock the bike down went through her.
She would not be jealous of a motorcycle. Would not.
