Dax: After spending the summer buried up to my eyeballs in my family’s affairs, I’m ready for a break. The kind of break where I can spend two solid weeks camping and fishing in the company of absolutely no one. At which point Dax will go back home, leaving “us” in the rearview mirror. That’s the plan. Or it was . . . until I started falling for him.
If you've been following the Real Love series your in for a real treat with this book. If you haven't been following the Real Love series guess what? You're still in for a real treat! Dax has appeared in the previous books but we really were not told much about him. Now he's on a vacation of sorts. He's been a grump so he decided he needed to be alone for a while. Soon as he gets where he's going things don't go right. Rain. Lots of it. This means he can't get to his remote cabin for all that peace and quiet. Fortunately he does get to witness hot spitfire Becca Stone get fired from the bar her brother owns. It's his lucky night. A one night stand with Becca turns into a two night and a three night.. Are you with me? Anyway.... I love Dax! I love when authors take a secondary character that we don't know much about and show us what a wonderful guy or girl they are. In this case Dax was kind of this static background and then he steps up and he's full of glorious colors screaming look at me! Dax and Becca are great together. They each have their separate issues but they battle their way through their doubts about themselves to be there for each other. I was so excited to see their HEA at the end because they deserved happiness so much. I wanted to clap and jump up and down reading the last bits of this book. The only thing i wish we could've had just a bit more was the couples from the previous books. There are three in the series so far and as I've read each one I thought it was my favorite. Dax is my favorite. I'm really hoping there's at least one more book in this series but we'll have to wait as see.
