Grant Cutter got his heart broke by the women he loved and was about to proposed to. Debating on weather to stay with Boston Fire or pack it in and move on a fire call he runs smack dab into the women who left him. All is not as it seems though when he finds that woman living in a run down apartment and living quiet. Wren Everett was hoping the man who shattered her life would leave her alone but hints are coming that he hasn't. She left Grant to protect him. Now though she's faced with telling him everything. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Grant and Wren and i loved them together. The only thing i had a bit of a problem with was the wrap up. I expected a confrontation and didn't get one. I felt there was a build up for something big to happen and then it really didn't. Still a OK read and i enjoyed it.

This is a stand alone book in the Trillium Bay series. Brooke Callahgan is the youngest mayor elected in Wenniway Island. Brooke is trying to navigate her new job as Mayor and it's more than she thought it would be. While learning the ropes and making adjustments a private investigator shows up claiming there's a jewel thief on the island. Not what she needs right now. Then she meets Leo Walker bartender extraordinaire and out of work security expert in between jobs. He's there temporarily til he finds out about another job. Question is should Brooke enjoy him until he leaves or just stay away. This is my first book by this author and while i liked the story idea i was bored at times. Something just did not click with me. I didn't feel a connection between Leo and Brooke and i really wanted to. The wrap up felt a bit sloppy. I like Brooke and i liked Leo but it wasn't hard to figure out why Leo was there. I don't know. I think i need to read more from this author and see if it was the book or the mood i was in when i read it.

Rachel is the girl everyone thought disappeared with her mother as a baby. Some suspected her dad murdered them both. That mystery was solved in previous books and Rachel's home with her family on break for the holidays then she's off to find a job. She's still trying to reconcile her family she didn't know she had for years and finding her place in it. Cauy Lymond is the guy who left home at 16 because of his dad. Now that dad has left the old rub down ranch to him and the hate his dad harbored for the Morgans.  Things aren't always what they seem though. Both Rachel and Cauy have things to fix in their lives but they just seem to click. I really loved this one for some reason. I've read a few of the others in this series but this one stands out. Rachel and Cauy both had parental problems and secrets from their pasts.  Cauy is a tough nut to crack to get into his heart but Rachel is just the girl to do it. Hated to see it end.

First in a new series by Lori Foster the Road to Love series starts with Brodie Crews and his family and their business Mustang transportation.  Mary Daniels works for a wealthy collector. She hires Brodie on her bosses behalf to be her driver as she goes about picking up the items collected. I liked the Crews family a lot and look forward to getting to know each as the series continues. Brodie and his brother had a absent father but a fabulous mother who took great care of them and taught them how to treat people. Mary had the opposite upbringing. She had no father and her mother didn't take care of her at all. Mary doesn't get close to anyone or let anyone get close to her. Until Brodie. For whatever reason Mary opens up to Brodie and she lets him in and slowly lets others in as well. While Brodie is driving Mary and getting to know her someone is also trying to stop their boss from collecting certain items. Lots of action and suspense and fun in this book.

The author has let Kelli be a bit of  a mystery in the past three books. Finally you get the story of Kelli. Who she is and where she came from but Kelli gets some surprises of her own. Loved to see these to finally get together.
