Review: Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh

Archangel's Kiss is the the follow up book to Angel's Blood. You MUST read Angel's Blood before reading Archangel's Kiss or you'll be totally lost in the first sentence. In Angel's Blood you meet Elena a Guild Hunter who gets hired by the Archangel of New York Raphael to hunt another Archangel. Elena usually hunts vampires not angels. This is how their relationship starts. Raphael can kill her with a thought pretty much but Elena is no pushover and their interactions keep you quite riveted to the page. This was one of those books where i really wanted to not be bothered and just read til i finished it. I believe i may have just done that too. lol I read it months ago. Getting on the follow up book Archangel's Kiss. You might want to stop reading right now if you've not read Angel's Blood cause i'm going to give some details away that'll spoil it if you haven't read it yet. Ok you were warned.

In Archangel's Kiss Elena awakens from year long coma to find she is a angel herself. She retains all her hunting abilities and discovers she has some new ones too. The threat to her in this book comes from several places and you kind of have to try and figure out who is really after her. I'll admit there was some places in the book i was confused but this is where i think you have to read Angel's Blood first. If you read it before read it again before starting Archangel's Kiss. I found myself trying to remember stuff from the first book. I did it backward but i reread Angel's Blood after Archangel's Kiss. Below is a excerpt from Archangel's Kiss.

There are you intrigued? I don't know how Nalini Singh can put this all together. Very creative thinking. to me there is so much to consider in how one would put a story like this together. If you would like to read the first chapter of Archangel's Kiss you can do so here The book has been out for a few weeks. I couldn't find it at my local Walmart or Kmart which are the only local places to buy here but interestingly enough because i mention Angel's Blood to my librarian she had them both available to check out shortly after it was released. Needless to say i was happy. lol There is supposed to be 4 books in this series the next is not due out til the first part of 2011.

Reviw: Lead me on by Victoria Dahl

Wow Lead me on out finally! This is the third book in the Tumble Creek series by Victoria Dahl. The first book was called Talk me Down and the 2nd book Start me UP! I started out with the second book because a friend of mine gave it to me. Totally loved it so i searched out Victoria Dahl's website to see what else she had. Of course i found out it was a series and went out in search of the first book. The first one was just as good and the second. Just the right mix of everything. Sex, humor and a story to go with it. Lead me On is the last in the series and just came out this month. I had a hard time finding it here in the rural area i live but got lucky that someone donated it to the local library and they put it out with the used books to sell. Lucky me! Wow Lead me on is full of hot sex so if your offended by that it's not for you but the story starts with Jane Morgan as the assistant to Quinn Jennings from Start me up. She is prim and proper and a little on the cold side. Then in walks William Chase. He is big and tall, 6'4" and tough with a sexy tattoo. Instant attraction! Here is a excerpt so you can get a idea of what i'm talking about.

I suggest you start with Talk me down if you haven't read then move on to Start me up before going on to Lead me on. All the characters are interconnected thru the books. Nice set of three for reading without being to heavy. I give it 4 and 1/2 Modokker stars. Check it out.

TBR or in other words the To be read pile

TBR, do you have one? Most people who read do. I had a decent size one about 100 books but in the last few months it's taken on a bigger size of about 200 to 250. I haven't counted. Not sure if I'll read all of them or trade some. Most were free or almost free. I have a great library i use that sells their used largely donated books very cheap. About twice a year they have a book sale and then they are even cheaper and what's left is free. Can't beat free. I always pick up a bag full of smaller Harlequin books for my mother in law although i enjoy them myself too. Lately I've been working on my TBR pile and well also trying to finish up finding and reading one of my favorite authors.  If you know me i have a list of authors that i adore. That list occasionally grows when i find someone else i can't get enough of. Once they're on my list i try to read everything they've written. Not so easy with some authors like Nora Roberts who have written so many books. Let's see if i were to make a written list of favorites they'd have to include:

Julie Garwood
Christine Feehan
JR Ward
Susan Mallery
Linda Lael Miller
If they write a book i'm going to read it. I finally read every book that Christine Feehan has written and i am working on Julie Garwood not counting books she's written as Emily Chase. Getting all Nora Roberts books written might very well take me years there are so many. I've been working my way thru Susan Mallery and Linda Lael Miller.  If you have noticed some of these authors write quite different genre's but i like that because i like to mix it up some. You can only read so much paranormal no matter how good it is until you need a little basic romance.

My TBR (to be read) pile contains quite a few Nora Roberts books. Like i said I'll be reading her forever trying to catch up. I read her new ones when they come out though. I really like the Bride Quartet series she is working on now. Besides Nora though I have a pile of Susan Wiggs, Linda Howard who is working her way on to my favorite list. LOVED Mr Perfect! Let's see we also have Christy Reece who is a newer authors with some awesome series out there and Victoria Dahl who is almost on my fav list. Her new release Lead me on should be awesome if i can every find it in the store to buy it. How about Jane Porter. wonderful writer and person.  I have tons more authors and books that's just who comes to mind. Who is on your TBR pile. How about a wish list? Have one of those?
