ARC Book review: The Hitwoman Plays Courier (Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman #29) by J.B. Lynn

Available now
eARC Provided by author

No good deed goes unpunished.

When Maggie Lee helps an old man who’s fallen, she ends up working as a courier for his well-to-do son.

Proud of herself for landing a legitimate job that doesn’t involve a windowless office, Maggie ignores red flags and the concerns of God that all may not be what it seems. She’s too busy traversing the landmines of literacy involving a certain mobster’s grandson and juggling the two men who both want more from their relationships with her.

Maggie’s already stressed out when things go wrong, really wrong, with a delivery. A man’s dead and the police know about her involvement with him.

With the help of her pets and the two men vying for her affections, Maggie must figure out what the heck is going on…or God may be lost forever.

Maggie has her hands full more than usual this time. Juggling her current man and one of her ex's is a struggle especially when she still has feelings for the ex. She can't seem to commit to anyone. Either way they are both there looking out for her and taking what they can get. Who knew hoping a old man up when he fell in the parking lot would lead to murder. Maggie agrees to be a courier for the old man's son. Seems simple enough but nothing ever is. This story for me was kind of  a hmm whatever at first. Maggie's undecidedness about the men in her life drives me nuts but she also never seems to have any down time from mayhem. The story finally for me and my patience picks up about halfway or farther in. Lot of little connections coming together to maybe form a bigger picture with all the players in this series.  The author keeps you guessing on who is doing what and with you all the time. Keeps things refreshed and interesting. In the end it really made this book good.

eARC Book review: Romancing the Rancher (The Millers of Morgan Valley #6) by Kate Pearce

Available December 28th 2021
eARC Provided by the publisher through Netgalley

Ranching will always run in Evan Miller's blood, but as the fifth son, he also wants to prove to his skeptical family that he can forge his own path. Drawn to the world of rodeo, Evan encounters Josie Martinez, half-sister of world champion bull rider Rio Martinez. He hopes Josie might show him the ropes--among other things--but Josie has priorities of her own...
Josie's not sure what she's doing at her brother's ranch when she should be at her office in San Francisco, fulfilling her dream of becoming young entrepreneur of the year. Ever since violence unexpectedly entered her life and her home, she's struggled to get her life back on track. The ranch offers a sanctuary--with one gorgeous exception: Evan. But is he just a distraction, or can their growing bond--and undeniable attraction--persuade Josie that her heart is big enough for work and love...

Evan Miller has always been the irresponsible one. He's the youngest son and so he's always just blended in. Josie is staying at her brother's place hiding out for a bit after something terrible happened to her. They get together at the rodeo and start hanging out. I wanted to like this one. It was OK. Evan seems immature at times and at times he seemed grown up and responsible. Josie seemed a lot older to me. Somewhere in there it just didn't work for me.

eARC Bok review: The Hitwoman Pays a Debt (Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman #28) by J.B. Lynn

Available now
eARC Provided by author

Maggie Lee is a woman who pays her debts and now she’s running herself ragged.

When the mysterious Ms. Whitehat asks her to work at a dentist’s office to gain access to a safe, Maggie can’t say no.

She probably should have turned down her murder mentor, Patrick Mulligan, when he wants her to tail a suspicious cop, but she owes him.

And she also couldn’t refuse to help US Marshal Griswald when he requests her assistance to solve one last case before he retires.

Speaking of his retirement, Aunt Susan is planning the party of the century for him and she expects Maggie to bring a date.

But making it to the party on time may prove difficult since repaying her debts has resulted in Maggie doing a dangerous dance with a killer.

Poor Maggie. She doesn't have a normal life. Murder and Mayhem seem to follow her. Her family and friends try her patience and the men in her life give her fits. In this installment she has to do a job for the mysterious Ms Whitehat, help Patrick and Griswald with one last old cold case before he retires. She's never alone though since she has her crazy group  of animals to take her back. It's fun to watch what Maggie is going to have to do next. How the author keeps this series fresh and juggles the large and varies member of this series cast is pure art. Maggie's love life is complicated.  I used to root for Patrick and then Angel but I think I have switched to Gino now. In any case I hope Maggie finds love that sticks. Always action packed and keep you guessing story.

eARC Book review:Peppermint Bark (The Dogmothers #7) by Roxanne St. Claire

Available Now
eARC Provided by author

Getting stood up for her high school prom turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to Colleen Kilcannon. That's when Joe Mahoney offered to fill in as her date, and magic happened. By the end of that night, Colleen was ready to give up her dreams of flying the friendly skies and seeing the world…because nothing in that world could compete with her firefighter. She and Joe married, had a family, and remained deeply in love until he died in the line of duty, leaving her a widow for twenty years.

Tim McIntosh has avoided Bitter Bark for forty-five years. But when the international business executive returns to his home town to fulfill his father’s dying wish, seeing Colleen again is inevitable. Determined to deliver a decades-old apology, he visits the dog treat store she runs, where a couple of sweet old ladies persuade him to participate in Peppermint Bark, a holiday dog fostering program. They even have the perfect dog for him to foster, an impish Westie named Bucky. There’s just one problem...someone else has already claimed that dog. Someone Tim remembers quite well.

As Colleen and Tim rekindle their friendship and co-foster a dog that seems to only be happy when they’re together, old sparks ignite. But they only have the month of December together before he returns to his life of world travel…and she returns to what suddenly seems like a mundane existence. Their relationship deepens while they set out on an impossible holiday mission to fulfill his father’s deathbed request, uncovering life-changing secrets. It’ll take one clever Westie, two scheming grannies, and a whole lot of Christmas magic for Colleen and Tim to finally get a second chance at a dance that just might last forever.

Colleen and Tim had something as teenagers. Well Colleen thought she did until one stormy prom night Tim didn't show up to take her to the prom and then he just disappeared. Joe Mahoney stepped in and Colleen found the love of her life. Fast forward to present day. Joe has been gone for 20 years now. Colleen is content with her life the way it is. That is until Tim shows up in her life again. This a second chance romance. I was a little worried at the beginning because even though Joe Mahoney is long dead in this series I felt a loyalty him. Tim won me over but I was conflicted much of the story. Tim and Colleen reconnect and get to know each other again 45 years after the last time they saw each other. I really enjoyed this story. It's great that the author brings in glimpses of past characters in her books so you get this warmth of knowing the families in the series. Great warm fuzzies Christmas story with a second chance at love.

Emmy Garrett is on the run. A mob boss wants her dead. A US Marshal decides to hide her with a friend out in the middle of Montana. Dwight Reynolds in that friend. He's got the experience to protect her and keep her safe. It doesn't take long for feeling to form between the two but with possible death hanging over Emmy she doesn't want to consider love just in case she doesn't make it. I like this book. It's more of a suspense than a holiday themed book but I loved the suspense and i Loved the relationship building between the two main characters. I stayed engaged throughout the story. A great read for me.

Once Upon a time…
I met Talia Richards at a charity fundraiser, and my world stopped on a dime. When she proposed I work with her on a project, I leapt at the chance. Months later, I’ve only seen her twice since that fateful night. Twice. I’m dying.

The day I cave in and fly out to visit her, I watch as she is unfairly fired by a pair of dimwits—one of which is quickly acquainted with my fist. I sweep in and offer Talia a contract to work for me, as long as she doesn’t mind moving into the townhouse next door…

A balcony away, she’s driving me crazy in the best way imaginable. She’s in my bed, her long dark hair tangled around my limbs as well as my heart. She keeps reminding me she’s going home soon. Now to convince her that what we have is as rare and wild as she is… Here goes nothin’.

Third and final book in this series brings up Archer Owen. Archer is the only brother of the three that isn't adopted. He feels as though he's struggled his entire life for his dads approval while his adopted brothers got all the praise. Didn't mean he didn't love them but it did frustrate. Talia Richards needed Archer's help so she went after him to get him to work with her. A year later of email semi flirting and he flies out to see her only to witness her getting fired. Not until he gets a chance to defend her first. Now she's working for Archer as a consultant. Sparks are flying but Talia has been burned before by people she loved. She messed up before and it's to scary to go through that again. I loved Archer. He's a dream come true. The author makes him very likable. He's a supportive brother. Is there for everyone and works hard. Talia is fun and cool and determined. Great wrap up to the series.

eARC Book review: Stronger Than You Know (McKenzies of Ridge Trail #2) by Lori Foster

Available August 24th 2021

eARC Provided by publisher through Netgalley

Their secrets run deep, but desire runs deeper…

Kennedy Brooks has spent years learning how to protect herself, and empowering other women to do the same. Still, there are some hazards that can’t be predicted. That includes Reyes McKenzie, who owns her local gym. Strong, capable, and watchful, he seems like the one man who might understand her past. For once, Kennedy is tempted to let her guard down—something she’s vowed never to do.

The moment petite, fiercely determined Kennedy walked into his gym, Reyes knew that she carried secrets. What he didn’t expect was that she could tell the same about him. When trouble tracks her down, she turns to Reyes, unleashing a maelstrom of protective instinct and mutual desire. But will her need for him end when the danger does, or will they take the ultimate risk—on each other?

We meet Kennedy Brooks in book one. She was a victim once and is determined to never be again. Reyes McKenzie owns the local gym where Kennedy works out. He's tried connecting with her before only to be shut down. He knows somethings up with Kennedy.  Reyes family is trained to help so when Kennedy calls Reyes when things go bad he's all in. I love this series. This book is action packed and the Mc Kenzie family just a super cool and I love that even though they are all bad asses they still razz each other like a regular family if a protective one. This is a excellent read from cover to cover. Can't wait for book three.

eARC Book review: Savage: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Anna Ray

Available now

eARC Provided by publisher through Netgalley

He scares the living daylights out of me. But not for the reasons he might think. And that scares me even more.

Hazel

He’s magnetic. Tall and commanding.
Heartbreakingly gorgeous.
Borne of ice. Ruthless.
Dangerous.
And his dark, mesmerizing gaze is locked onto me.
This man is fantasy in the flesh.
Callum O’Daire.
Darling of Boston’s moneyed society and king of the underworld.
And I’m here to ask a favor from this soulless creature. Beg, if I have to.
I despise him. Body and soul.

Callum

Hazel Brentwood.
Even from a distance, she’s striking.
Stands out.
Eyes like dark gold that glittered with fire and untapped passion.
She needs my help. But I hate the Brentwoods.
All of them.
Old money that covers sins and crimes that will never be answered to
The very thing keeping Hazel so pampered and pretty.
Blood money.
If anyone’s going to tear her to shreds, to destroy her, it’s going to be me.
My way.

Sultry stares, passionate embraces, and suspense await you inside Savage. This enemies-to-lovers mafia romance will have you flipping the pages, begging Callum or Hazel to make the first move!

This is the first book by this author for me. The blurb really pulled me in to try this one. Hazel is looking for help in finding out about her birth mother. Her brother Sam left a note making it seem like Callum knew something. Callum needs her to. This story is a bit intense. Might be a hard read for some and have triggers for some readers as well. Callum is pretty blunt and often rude. He seems in a inner struggle with himself often. Hazel starts out pretty weak but as the story progresses becomes stronger and more confident. It felt like I was going to get whiplash from all the back and forth Callum did with how he treated and felt about Hazel. He couldn't live without her but thought for her sake he should. It really kept my interest throughout even it frustrated me at times. A good solid read for me.

This was a fun and flirty read. You get a little of all the previous couples in this series as well. It's hard to decide on a favorite of the series but I have a special admiration for Hallie.  I awesome wrap up to the four book series.

eARC Book review: The Summer of No Attachments (The Summer Friends #2) by Lori Foster

Available June 22, 2021

eARC Provided by publisher by Netgalley

Summer flings with no strings mean nobody gets hurt.
At least, that was the plan…

After putting the brakes on her dead-end relationship, local veterinarian Ivey Anders is ready to soak up this summer on her own terms. The way she sees it, no dating means no disappointment. Why complicate life with anything long-term? But when she meets Corbin Meyer—and his troubled young son, Justin—Ivey’s no-strings strategy threatens to unravel before she can put it into practice.

Trust doesn’t come easy for Ivey’s best friend, Hope Mage, a veterinary-clinic assistant who’s affected by an incident that’s colored every relationship she’s had. Though Hope’s happy for Ivey, she can’t quite open her own heart to the possibility of love. Not just yet… Maybe not ever. Soon, however, she’s faced with a dilemma—Corbin’s older brother, Lang. He’s charming, he’s kind…and he may just be the reason Hope needs to finally tear down her walls.

And as the sweet summer months unspool, the two friends discover love won’t give up on them so easily.

Ivey Anders is kind of a no nonsense person. She pretty much says what she thinks. After a reality check she ends a relationship that wasn't working and decides she's done dating.  Ivy's best friend had something in her past that made trusting any man almost impossible. When the they meet brothers Corbin and Lang Meyer it changes them both in different ways. Add in Corbin's new found son and it's a interesting and emotion tugging story. I really liked this story. All the characters were do different and yet seems to mesh well. I loved Corbin and Lang. What a great pair of brothers who were brought up by a strong single parent mom. It's just a feel good story from beginning to end. A perfect summer read.

eARC Book review: Smoke & Mirrors (Forged in Fire #2) by Skye Jordan

eARC Provided by publisher through Netgalley
Available May 31st 2021

I’m taking a break from women. I’ve been lied to once too often, and I’m over it.
Then Isabel, my best friend’s little sister, blows into town without notice, bringing the past with her. Her secret past.

From the moment she crashes poker night and hustles the whole firehouse out of a couple hundred bucks, I know she’s not telling the truth about why she’s here.

Lies have influenced my entire life. They’ve also torn my world apart too many times already.

But by the time the truth comes out, she’s tangled around my heart like barbed wire, and there’s no way out unscathed.

Isabel rolls into town on her very last dime. Scammed by her ex-boyfriend and living a lie for years she's back in her hometown. Her life a mess. Logan's sister Maya was Isabel's best friend. That friendship ended years ago when Isabel left town and cut ties. Logan's been burned before and trust is a serious issue for him. He's always been attracted to Isabel and her being back brings out those feeling but he senses she's hiding something and he'd be right. I like Isabel and Logan but they drove me nuts at time. Isabel didn't out and out lie but she omitted a lot and distracted to avoid. Logan had reason to not trust her completely. Logan had been taken advantage of before but come one you can't paint every women you meet with the same brush. Took a while to get their act together but watching it happen was enjoyable. Both were good people but needed to communicate and open up with each other. There was the right amount of humor to balance out the drama. I did not read book one in this series but you don't have to to enjoy this book. It definitely stands on it own. Isabel's brother Tucker is a bit of a little shit so we'll see if he soon get some growing up time in a future book. I look forward to that. I haven't read a Skye Jordan book in a while and this was definitely a great book to dive back in with.

eARC Book review: Deathtoll (Broslin Creek #8) by Dana Marton

Available May 25th 2021
eARC Provided by author

Kate and Murph are back in Broslin Creek, thinking they're safe, their worst enemy dead. But soon people around Kate begin to die under suspicious circumstances, and she and Murph must face the terrible realization that Asael followed them home, and not only are their lives in danger, but also the lives of the townspeople who took Kate in years ago.

This is the stunning conclusion to the Broslin Creek series. It doesn't disappoint with the edge of your seat writing. This series started with Kate and Murph and how they ended up in witness protection. Now the danger is over and they are back in Broslin Creek and Kate is questioning their relationship. While she's keeping Murph at arms length they find their old enemy isn't dead like they thought. They are in danger as well as all their family and friends. This is not for the feint of the heart. I had to take a break or two reading this because of the some of the suspense elements. This book starts off quick and keeps that pace. Kate's indecision drove me nuts sometimes and is finally explained at the end but poor Murph has the patience of a saint. I think you can read this as a stand alone but would be much better if you read the series as a whole or at least book one. I have not read all the books in this series yet but definitely look forward to reading the ones I have missed. Definitely a thrilling read.

But she’s never been a quitter, even if she wishes she could quit rehab, where her hot but evil physical therapist, Simon, puts her through the wringer.

Desperate for a new start, Emma opens a doggy day care. Unfortunately, the only space she can afford is owned by her childhood nemesis Ali Pratt. But hey, she’s been through worse, right? She tries to roll with the punches, but a friend drops his grandpa off at the doggy day care because he can’t find senior care. On top of that, she and Ali bring the term “frenemies” to a whole new level. And then another grandparent shows up. And another.

In the midst of all that, Emma realizes she’s accidentally fallen for her Evil PT. But the most horrifying thing of all is that Ali just might have turned into the best friend she’s ever had. And as Emma grows from the pain of her past and takes on her new path, she comes to learn that life isn’t what you’re given, it’s what you make of it.

Emma wakes up from a coma to find her whole world has changed. Her fiance' and her best friend have fallen in love leaving her a third wheel living in her apartment with them. In rehab to fix her damaged body and brain she moves into a new place her fabulous physical therapist finds her. That's step one. Step two is to make it up the steps to her apartment without passing out. To make a living to buy the local doggy daycare. Unfortunately she has to take on a partner in the form of her high school enemy. Add in her hottie physical therapist you got a great story. I loved this book. Probably the best book I have read so far this year. I was delightfully entertained page after page. Emma is the toughest chick out there. No matter what she doesn't give up and is she starts to waver she's got people to back her up even if some of those people are a little reluctant. You laugh you cry and you feel good by the end.

eARC Book review: Second Chance Love Song (Dynasties: Beaumont Bay #2) by Jessica Lemmon

Available May 25th
eARC Provided by author

There’s no place like Nashville for discovering all the secrets your ex has been keeping.

He chose country music over the one who got away.
Well, now she’s back…

Country music star Cash Sutherland is too successful for his own good. Seen as a bad boy in need of redeeming, he and his label are doing all they can to revamp his reputation. They’ve even hired eager journalist Presley Cole, who’s ready and willing to print the cover story that will make both their careers. The only problem? She’s the woman he left behind, and she’s not ready to forgive him for breaking her heart…

Cash and Presley used to have a thing in college until Cash left to start his music career and left Presley behind with a broken heart. Now Presley is in a position to find her dream and Cash can make that happen if she can find out the secret of who his number one song is about. While spending time at Cash's home to interview him and put a news piece together for her boss feelings rekindle. I love the Sutherland brothers. They are close knit family of four who razz each other but also have each others backs. This book is part of a 4 book series by two authors. Do yourself a favor and start with book one. These can be read alone but I think reading them in order will really enhance your enjoyment.  Presley and Cash were young when they started but still seems to be repeating the past. Loved how the two authors writing this series has so far seamlessly made this series flow together. This was one of those books you don't want to put down until you hit the last page.

Maggie’s life is always complicated, but her tenuous balancing act becomes even more dangerous when she’s given the job of stealing a teddy bear from the grandson of the mobster Delveccio.

As she struggles to keep the different facets of her life separate, her family faces multiple threats to their safety, and there’s a very real chance she won’t be able to protect everyone she loves.

Her best chance at success depends on the help of her pets…and you can bet they all have something to say about that.

Maggie is always juggling a several balls at once and this book is more of the same. With so much going on she needs a little help from all her pets and there more than willing to help. There's something about these stories that makes you want to read it all in one go. You can easily sit back and relax and enjoy and be entertained. Then there's that Gino.

eARC book review: Faux Paws (The Dogmothers #6) by Roxanne St. Claire

At a personal and career crossroads he never expected, Navy nuclear engineer Theo Santorini faces the fact that his once charmed existence isn’t so charmed anymore. Then, on a cross country trip, he saves a desperate and abused dog, hoping he can turn around both their lives. When he arrives at Waterford Farm in North Carolina with his rescue, Clementine, Theo’s matchmaking grandmother and her best friend immediately launch a plan to help both man and dog. Theo doesn’t hate their idea of getting an assist from a beautiful, enigmatic “pet psychic” while he figures out his next move. But the woman’s preposterous claims that she can read an animal’s mind seriously test an engineer who lives for logic and flees from feelings.

After bolting from the church when she learned the groom waiting at the altar had cheated on her, Ayla Hollis can now add “runaway bride” to her short resume. But this perennial people-pleaser has broken free from her stifling upbringing and is finally ready to begin a new life. She’ll start by openly admitting to the world that she has a gift that might seem bizarre to some, but she can help animals, and in a town that loves dogs, that makes her a local hero. Her first “patient” is an emotionally damaged stray dog held in the strong arms of a handsome, but skeptical, owner. Ayla soon finds it can be much easier to understand an animal’s feelings than those of a man who refuses to believe her abilities are real.

As Theo and Ayla work together to help Clementine heal, they can’t deny one thing is real: their sizzling chemistry that quickly grows to feelings of forever. But before the Dogmothers can claim another successful match, Ayla’s psychic skills thrust her into a perilous spotlight that threatens everything. With their love on the line and a dog’s life in the balance, Ayla’s gift could save them all…but only if Theo will finally risk his heart and believe.

Love this series. Theo Santorini is fresh out of the service. He was expecting to get a job overseas in London but when it falls through he comes to Bitter Bark to get his bearings for a bit. Alya Hollis finds out at the alter that her soon to be husband cheated on her with her best friend. Exit out the side door and she's out of there. Her friend Marie takes her into her care and you guessed it heads to Bitter Bark where she's trying to set up a home for animals in need.
Alya has a talent with animals. She can understand what they are feeling in a way. Theo is a science guy so to him he just can't believe. This becomes a barrier to any relationship they're building. I really enjoyed this story. Theo is a great guy Alya comes from a seemingly rich family but is one of the most down to earth people out there. She fits right in with Theo and his extended family. This is one of those feel good stories that leaves you feeling content and relaxed in the end. It's not a easy road to the end but well worth the journey to get there.

eARC Book review: The Engagement Arrangement (Boots and Bouquets #2) by Jaci Burton

Available June 29th 2021

Brenna Bellini will never get married again. She plans to live out her days as a happy, successful, single woman. When she's chosen to be a bridesmaid in her friend's wedding at the Bellini family vineyard, she's thrilled. That is, until she realizes who else is in the wedding party. Brenna's going to have to spend four days in the company of not only her ex-husband, but also her high school nemesis. She just knows the fact that she's single and alone is going to be rubbed in her face all weekend long. Well, not if Brenna can help it. She's going to find herself a fake fiancé.

Finn Nolan is thrilled to be offered the job. He's had it bad for Brenna ever since he came over from Ireland to work at the Bellini family vineyard. After falling for Brenna from afar for years, this Irish cowboy is determined to show the woman of his dreams that he is her Mr. Right.

So what does a confirmed never-getting-married-again woman do when the man of her dreams unexpectedly lands right in front of her? Because for the first time, she might not be able to walk away. This time it might be forever.

Brenna has been burned by love before so when that love comes back to haunt her she enlists her friend Finn to be her fake fiancé. It starts out pretty innocent but Finn has long had feeling for Brenna. He's not really wanting it to be fake. I really enjoyed this book. Unfortunately I didn't get to read book one in this series but fortunately for me it didn't hamper this book as all. Loved Finn and Brenna and her sisters. It makes you wish you were part of their family. Lot's of laughing and frustration and emotional moments in this story. Perfect weekend read.

Hattie Yates has finally met the man of her dreams. Yet years of abuse from her demanding father have left her petrified of disappointment. She’s already failed to reach her goal of becoming a professional ballerina—she can’t handle the terrible consequences of another dream becoming a nightmare. But when a stalker sets their sights on Hattie, there’s only one man she dares to hope can help . . .

Axl Pantera knows Hattie is the only woman for him. Yet despite the attraction burning between them, Hattie refuses to let him in. The former soldier is determined to woo her into letting down her walls. And when danger comes calling, he’s up against more than her wary and bruised heart. Axl will do anything to prove to Hattie that they’re meant to be, but first, he’ll need to keep her safe.

Hattie Yates grew up with a overbearing father. Nothing was ever good enough. Axel Pantera had his own issues with his dad so he can relate. When Axel sees Hattie hurting herself he decides it's time to wade in and get Hattie to let him help. I loved these two they lift each up in so many ways. When she gets a stalker Hawk and all the boys are in to help out. This series a spin off of the Rock chick series so you can count  characters from that series to show up along with the chaos boys. You need a good block of time to start reading this book because you are not going to want to put it down.

Jace Wilder has been rebuilding his life since the love of his life, Taryn, up and left town unexpectedly. But when she mysteriously returns, Jace’s dependable world comes crashing down. Taryn is hiding a dangerous secret, and no matter how hard he tries, Jace can’t stay away―especially when Taryn is at risk. And especially when the attraction he thought he’d buried long ago is back and hotter than ever. Will he be able to trust Taryn again?

Taryn Hillman’s world fell apart one horrifying night, and it’s never been the same since. When she sees a small chance at untangling herself, she takes it, though it means returning to Clearview – and seeing Jace again. But when he vows to protect her, will Taryn take a chance, and this time, never let him go?

Jace Wilder had the woman he loved and was ready to ask her to marry him when she disappeared. Taryn Hillman loved Jace but one night she and her family were all kidnapped and forced to work for a drug lord. Her dad and brother wer both killed at one point and now she's only got her sister left and she will do anything to protect her only family member left. Forced back to her hometown and eventually to Jace the two have to find their way back to each other if they can. Everything comes out when Jace gets over the shock of seeing her again. Of course he's all in to save her. This is a pretty action packed book from the very beginning. Jace and his family of friends have his back and in turn Taryn's. Lots of twists and turns throughout this book.  Guessing how it all will end to the very last pages.
