Isa is a strong women with a parents who don't support her and a ex-boyfriend who basically was using her to make his place in her parents company. Loved how Isa and Eli were there for each other in this story and how Isa understood Eli. The two of them seemed to click pretty quickly but that didn't make the path to I love you a easy one. Wonderful ending to this series.

eARC Book review: The Maverick Cowboy (Morgan Ranch #2) by Kate Pearce
Available January 31st 2017
eARC Provided by publisher through Netgalley
The heartbreak of their childhood drove the Morgan brothers far from their family’s California ranch—and one another. But as they face the wounds of the past, each feels the land calling him home . . .
Blue Morgan never thought he’d crave long days on horseback, working the cattle ranch where he grew up. But after a decade of getting shouted and shot at in the Marines, fresh air and hard work are just what he needs to settle his restless energy. Except no matter how hard he tries to focus, his mind wanders to the pretty, prickly new veterinarian instead.
There’s no denying the spark between Jenna McDonald and Blue. But with her job at risk and her own family’s expectations to wrangle, Jenna isn’t looking for another sparring partner. Blue needs her expertise on horses. And if she can help solve his mother’s disappearance, she’s willing to pitch in. But she’ll leave his ideas about how love should be scheduled to him. Jenna is tired of being told what she can’t have—and ready to reach for what she wants . . .
Blue gets out of the military at the same time he meets the lovely Jenna Mc Donald the new Veterinarian in the area. Blue and Jenna don't exactly get along at first but sparks fly. Blue and his siblings are trying to solve the mystery of what happened to their mother and their baby sister years ago. While they make minute progress on that front Blue is also struggling with his feelings for Jenna a long with a very big surprise that pops up in his life. It might be more that this Marine can handle. This is kind of a complicated story. Blue has the mystery with him and baby sister a child that shows up that may or may not be his and Jenna doesn't know where she belongs and doubts her abilities after a grumpy old rancher blames her for problems on his ranch. There are some really funny moments in this book along with some sad stuff. It's one of those books that just a joy to read. I love how Blue Morgan was named after a famous character from a old time western tv show. To find out more about that you'll have to read the book. I did not read the first book in this series but i am wishing now that i did. I think i found a new author to enjoy!

eARC Book review: Under Pressure (Body Armor #1) by Lori Foster
Available January 24th 2017
eARC Provided by publisher through Netgalley
He can protect anything except his heart
Leese Phelps’s road hasn’t been an easy one, but it’s brought him to the perfect job — working for the elite Body Armor security agency. And what his newest assignment lacks in size, she makes up for in fire and backbone. But being drawn to Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, especially since it could be the very man who hired Leese who’s threatening her.
What Catalina knows could get her killed. But who’d believe the sordid truth about her powerful stepfather? Beyond Leese’s ripped body and brooding gaze is a man of impeccable honour. He’s the last person she expects to trust — and the first who’s ever made her feel safe. And he’s the only one who can help her expose a deadly secret, if they can just stay alive long enough...
Book one is a new spin off series from Lori Foster. Leese Phelps has gone from MMA fighter to bodyguard. Where he lacked as a fighter he thrives as a body guard. Catalina Nicholson is a girl in trouble. She saw and heard something she shouldn't have and now she's on the run until she can figure out who she can trust. Leese has to grab her and keep her safe. She doesn't make it easy. She won't give Leese and his boss all the details they need but until she trusts Leese that's all they have to work with. Leese and Cat butt heads throughout this book but Leese hangs onto his calm. I have no idea how but he does. Cat is a tad bit juvenile but some would also she's strong and proud. She doesn't want Leese to get hurt but she doesn't understand or trust in him enough to let him help her. This book is action packed with characters from previous series and secrets all over the place. Catalina's step dad keeps us wondering is trying to help her or hurt her. The longer you read the more you see where he's going with her. I would have hoped to see her brothers included in the storytoo because who has brothers who don't get involved when their sister is in danger? Over all the book was entertaining. I loved seeing the guys from the previous series and seeing how Leese comes into his own. Can't wait to see what comes next!

eARC Book review: Accidentally on Purpose (Heartbreaker Bay #3) by Jill Shalvis
Available January 24th 2017
eARC Provided by publisher through Edelwiess
There’s no such thing as a little in love…
Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust…
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as…
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along…
Book 3 in the Heartbreaker Bay series brings us Elle and Archer's story. Elle and Archer have a history that wasn't good for either one of them. Elle was a 16 year girl on a not so good path of life and Archer a young cop when their worlds collided. Archer lost his career by helping Elle out of a bad situation. He's been keeping track of her ever since. Helping her out without her knowing. Successful in his own security business now and Elle back in his life he's still watching out for her and denying his feelings for her. Elle has fought a hard battle to get where she is today and to be who she is. Never knowing that Archer has been keeping a eye on her. When she finally gives up on ever having anything with Archer he realizes he wants her and he's been a idiot to push her away. It was fun to watch these two figure their way to each other. It's not a easy path and seeing the always in control Archer stumble and stammer his way around Elle was entertaining. It was nice to see him NOT be so perfect like Elle thinks he is. Elle has to struggle with her insecurities and her past. The chemistry between the two is so crazy cool! Jill Shalvis does the best job out there with words to make me laugh and maybe even cry a time or two. This series gets better with every book!

Another Chance
Claire Walsh had it all: a good job, wonderful parents and a fiancé who seemed to be too good to be true. And he was. Fifty feet from the altar, Claire learns the groom of her dreams is a no-show, and everything she believes about love and herself goes straight out the window. Determined to give herself space and time, she takes her honeymoon alone, and finds herself drawn to a man with a heart in worse shape than hers.
For the past five years Mac Stone has been going through the motions working with his aunt Myrna at her historic Santa Barbara B&B. He's made a life for himself, of sorts, but keeps his distance from emotional entanglements of any kind. But their newest guest, Claire Walsh is about to challenge all of that, and before Mac knows how it happened, the beautiful, vulnerable woman found a way into his heart--a heart he was certain would never love again.
Claire has waited a long time to find Mr. Right. Just when she thinks she's finally going to get that he leaves her at the alter and she finds she's been scammed. Since she paid for her honeymoon she decides to take it on her own. She's kind of fed up with men and heart broken that she can't seem to find her happiness. She arrives in California for a stay at a Bed and Breakfast to be picked up by Mac Stone at the airport. Drunk she makes a interesting first impression on him. Mac has been just doing his thing, helping his aunt and just existing. Something tragic happened to his wife years ago and he's never fully recovered. He quit his job in NYC and moved to California. Now Claire tips his world upside down. Both struggle with what they want while getting to know each other. This was sweet and sad in parts. They individually struggle with their different pasts while growing closer the longer Claire stays. It was fun to watch them work through their issues and enjoy each other. Funny to see them try to hide what's going on between them from Mac's aunt. Like she could be fooled. Ha! The story takes place around Christmas but it by no means just a Christmas story. Another wonderful story by Marilyn Baxter. A afternoon of reading a cold winter day!

EVERYTHING’S HOTTER IN TEXAS
When Marine Force Recon captain Cullen Loughman learns that his father’s been kidnapped, he will do whatever it takes to find him. In order to achieve his mission, Cullen will need to team up with the best of the best—someone who just happens to be the most stunning woman he’s ever laid eyes on…
This isn’t the first rodeo for ex—Air Force pilot Mia Carter. Still, Cullen’s bad-boy good looks and charm are distracting her from duty. . .and it appears that the feeling is mutual. As Mia and Cullen make their descent into a dark, dangerous world, their attraction reaches the boiling point. But is their desire worth the risk when a ruthless enemy is waiting in the wings—or will their Lone Star love conquer all?
The 2nd book in the Sons of Texas series the thread of the story that started in book one continues. The Loughman brothers are looking for their former military father whose been kidnapped. They are in possession of a biological weapon that they are not sure what it does. They just know it will be devastating. Owen and Natalie took up the first part of the hunt in book one and now Cullen the youngest brothers gets hooked up with Mia Carter another good friend of Orrin the dad of the brothers. This series has a lot of military and former military characters which of course kicks up the action expected with a suspense novel. Mia is a former military pilot still working as a contractor. She's the pilot that flew Orrin on his clandestine missions. On the last one his whole team was murdered and he was kidnapped. The book moves at a fast pace. Cullen and Mia have to get to know each other and learn to trust each other while they try to stay alive and find Orrin. While doing that they have to try and figure out what the secret organization called "The Saints" is up to. Once they learn to trust each other they have to decide who else they can trust. Some enemies are not enemies at all and some they thought were friends are not. This is a very twisty book. I'm not sure how the whole thing is going to end with book 3 but I am totally enjoying the couples as they come together. I loved Cullen and Mia. They clicked right away on the page and only got better and their story moved on. Up next is Wyatt and Callie. He might be the most unlikable of the three brothers up til now. We'll see if the author can make me like him. I already love Callie. Looking forward to book three.

eARC Book review:Sinful Pleasure (Bound Hearts #14) by Lora Leigh

TOO HOT TO HANDLE
Her name is Summer, as beautiful and occasionally fierce as her name suggests. Her past has just come back to haunt her, and suddenly she's not sure who she can trust. Her longtime confidantes Falcone and Raeg seem to have Summer's best interests at heart. . .but it's clear that their desire for her still burns between them. Can they find a way to keep Summer safe-or will a bitter rivalry stand in their way?
Falcone and Raeg need to work together, now more than ever, if they intend to protect Summer from an old enemy who knows her dangerous secret. When Summer's identity as a sweet, Southern socialite gets out, the two men must find a way to draw out the ruthless assassin on her trail. . .and keep their illicit romance with her under wraps. But some passions are so intense they can't remain hidden. What are Falcone and Raeg willing to risk for the woman they both crave like no other,
I haven't read a Lora Leigh book in a while and I have read this series before so I was excited to get back into the series and see where this book could take me. Summer is not all she might seem. She a lot more complex. As a agent she's bad ass and can take care of herself but home with her family in the south she's daddy's little girl. As a agent she's burned out. She's done so she goes home. Falcone and Raeg are brothers who have worked with Summer over the years more Falcon than Raeg. While Falcon has embraced Summer Raeg has always pushed back at her and kept her at arms length. They have done this thinking they are protecting her from their father. Now though she has someone out to kill her and to protect her they have to stay really close to her. Not as easy as it sounds when Summer doesn't want their help and her overprotective family is in their business. I loved her brothers but the rest of the family was a bit annoying and I couldn't relate to her backward old time thinking about her parents. The way Summer bows down to everything her dad says. She's a grown woman not a teenager. Parts of the book I really enjoyed. I like Falcon and Raeg but Raeg got more book time than Falcon. I wanted to see a bit more of Falcon. I think there should have been more discussion among the three about what was going on but I guess that would have made the book a lot shorter. While I enjoyed Lora Leigh books more in years past they don't seen to hold the same appeal as they used to. I liked Sinful Pleasure well enough but it wasn't good as I had hoped.
