Book review: Anthology Marked (Beyond #3.5) by Lauren Dane, Vivian Arend , Kit Rocha

 photo 17925723_zps9a37148e.jpg

Available Feb 10th 2014
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Lauren Dane takes you into a brand new world in ALL THAT REMAINS. Summer Killian falls fast and hard when Charlie arrives in Paradise Village. But the heat turns all the way up when she learns Charlie is also with Hatch - the man she loved three years before. While she's not sure she's cut out for a triad, neither man is going to give her up.

Take a ROCKY RIDE with New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Vivian Arend as she leads you back to the Six Pack Ranch. Anna Coleman might be the law around Rocky Mountain House, but bad boy Mitch Thompson knows that under the stiff RCMP uniform is a woman with a passion for speed and pleasure that matches his own, and he’s not giving up until she’s his.

Kit Rocha returns to Sector Four in BEYOND TEMPTATION. A promise to a dying friend backfires when Noah Lennox finds that the girl he was supposed to rescue is all grown up--and wearing O'Kane ink. He wants to protect her from the secrets of their past, but she wants him. And an O'Kane woman always gets what she wants.

Ever read an anthology and like one of two of the novella's but not all? I hate when that happens. Luckily that didn't happen this time! All Three of these novella's were hits for me. First up is Kit Rocha with "Beyond Temptation". This is a part of the Beyond series and sizzling hot of course like the rest of series. Noah finds the girl he's loved for years with the O'Kanes. While he's always protected her she's a grown woman and a O'Kane now and they take care of their own.  Fast paced and exciting the writing is excellent and takes you into Noah and Emma's past and then speeds you right up to the present as they find a way through secrets and a intense situation where Noah has to find a way out of trouble for both of them without giving her up. Sex scenes as always are to die for good!!

Next up is Vivian Arend's "Rocky Ride" Thompson brothers series. I do not read enough of Vivian Arend and i really need to fix that. Wow in the first chapter you will be already sucked into the story as it starts out pretty quickly with the hottest sex scene i have read in a while. It only gets hotter from there. Anna Coleman is a cop and Mitch Thompson comes across as the bad boy but neither one is what they appear. Mitch has to figure out how to get Anna to let her wild side show while also showing her his serious side and that he's in it for keeps.  Excellent characters and writing. I would love to hear this in audiobook form.

Lastly is Lauren Dane. Honestly i have not read much of her work yet so i had no expectations for her contribution "All that Remains". The title certainly fits the concept of this new series. Dane manages to lay a lot of the ground work and history for the series while still giving us a good solid story. I wasn't sold at first til i got a few chapters in and the picture started to come together in my mind as i read. I didn't realize there would be such super hot sex scenes either but wow did she deliver on that score.  It's a whole new way of living. Charlie runs into a beautiful woman and introduces her to his partner Hatch only to find out they grew up together and have a painful break up in their past. Summer was devastated when Hatch left her 4 years ago, but it forced her to get tough and take care of herself. She doesn't need anyone anymore, but maybe she does. Charlie is the glue that brings them back together and to form a lasting triad between the three of them. Interesting new series with a solid start. I'll be back for more.

Book review: Snowbound with a Billionaire (Billionaires And Babies #42) by Jules Bennett

 photo 183432931_zps970ad4b5.jpg

Available Feb. 4th 2014
One blizzard plus two ex-lovers equals one passionate reunion in this Billionaires and Babies novel!

For years, billionaire producer Max Ford believed Raine Monroe had betrayed him. Now that he's back in his hometown, he wants answers. But his ex plans to keep her mouth shut and her heart far away from temptation until a snowstorm strands them with her baby in her cozy farmhouse. Soon Raine is falling faster than the snow outside.

But she has to put a stop to it before a fling with Hollywood's hottest bachelor jeopardizes her chances of officially adopting her daughter before saying goodbye again becomes impossible before dark secrets from their past finally come to light.

This is a really heart wrenching reunion story. When Max and Raine were young and in love with big dreams that included them being together people conspired to keep them apart.  It worked. Now years later Max is back in town to take care of his sick mother. Only the first thing he finds is Raine with a baby in the ditch.  He rescues her only to find out she's on her way to visit his mother. Since neither one of their parents approved of them as a couple when they were younger he's surprised by this.  Max and Raine start finding out there are secrets and lies in their past and misunderstandings and when a sudden snowstorm strands them together it gives them the opportunity to figure them all out. I loved Max he's not your typical hollywood actor type. Down to earth and normal as any regular guy and giving. Raine is a sweet tough girl whose spent the years since Max taking care of herself and building a wall around her heart. Then add in the cute baby moments and the story packs a punch.  As they start figuring out what went wrong all those years ago Max really stands up for Raine and she starts to trust him slowly.  What i like about the this story is they have to fight to figure out how to make it work between the two of them. It's not a easy cut a dry we're together again and everything is great. Jules Bennett writes a wonderful story about long lost but lasting love. Even years later you can find your way back.

Book review: Bare Essentials: (Naughty But Nice\Naturally Naughty) by Jill Shalvis , Leslie Kelly

 photo 18168629_zpsa05fb663.jpg

Naughty But Nice
by New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis

Lingerie model Cassie Tremaine Montgomery intends to have her revenge on the citizens of her hometown—starting with seducing the sheriff, Sean "Tag" Taggart. Tag, however, isn't cooperating. He's more than willing to set the sheets on fire with her, but he's asking for more than just sizzling sex…. He knows Cassie's not as tough as she pretends. And he knows she cares about him—even if she won't admit it. So he'll just turn up the heat until she concedes there's more between them than this red-hot passion.

Naturally Naughty
by New York Times bestselling author Leslie Kelly

Kate Jones, the girl from the wrong side of the tracks, is home. And she's got an agenda. To get revenge on the man who humiliated her mother, Kate's going to seduce that man's son—the town's golden boy, John Winfield Jr.—and then leave him drooling in a puddle of lust. However, when she finds herself seduced by a sexy stranger named Jack, little does she guess that the tables have just been turned…

This is actually a book about two cousins and their stories growing up in a town that treated them and their mothers like crap. Both are grown and successful women who are both forced back to town by circumstances that make them have to deal with their pasts. Each has to find their way to some kind of closure on what they thought they knew about their teen years and their mothers and the other people in town. For me this book was all over the place. I liked it i didn't like it. I was interested and then i felt like i could put it down and walk away. Both the cousins i think were to blame for this because that's how their characters seem to go to one extreme to the other.  They were both in their individual stories a little to much at times. The sex scenes were to die for hot and i loved the male counterpoints to the cousins but it was just a bit off for me at times. Still a really good story as a whole and i enjoyed it.

Cover reveal!! Complete Me by Catherine Peace

 photo CP_CompleteMe_MD_zpsd57d1d61.jpg

Unofficial blurb
Out of the dating game for five years, best-selling romance author Claire Ergleston is convinced that writing out the romances she’s always wanted is a lot safer than trying in real life. Then she receives the news that she’s been signed up for a 1Night Stand date “to give her something to talk about in interviews.” Nothing worse than a romance author with no romance to pick apart.

Former rock star Ty Krause has let his past rule him for almost a decade. Unable to let the former love of his life go for good, he spends his days writing passable songs for a British boy band and his nights wishing he had the balls to say goodbye. In a last ditch effort, he signs up for 1Night Stand, thinking that a night of no-strings-attached sex will help him cut the other strings holding him back.

When the two meet, their instant attraction and connection muddy the waters a little too much. Will past hurts hold them back from each other, or will they be able to move forward and live out their dreams together?

Book review: Hope Flames (Hope #1) by Jaci Burton

 photo 15808325_zps67d65e86.jpg

Thirty-two and finally setting up her veterinary practice in the town she once called home, Emma Burnett is on her own and loving it. Independent and driven, she's not letting any man get in the way of her dreams. Not again.

That's fine with Luke McCormack. Divorced and hardly lacking in female company when he needs it, he's devoted to the only faithful companion in his life--his police dog. Still, there's something about Emma he can't shake.

When a series of local break-ins leaves Emma vulnerable, she seeks help from the first man to spark her desire in years. And now they're giving each other something they thought they'd lost forever...hope.

This was a book i bought this past weekend. I have heard alot about  Jaci Burton newest series and was happy to find it in the store in paperback and try it. Bother Emma and Luke have past relationship issues with Emma's being the most serious by far. We're left guessing for quite a while as to what happened to Emma and for a woman her age  I'm surprised at how much she blamed herself still.  Her professor boyfriend was a douche and i rarely use that word to describe people. She gave up years of her life to this guy who threatened her and stole her life pretty much. Luke was married to the wrong woman. She was selfish and only thought of herself. It takes two  in a marriage but at some point you  have to move on. In this story that's what they both struggle with still. Moving on with their lives. They are perfect for each other and have similar interests and are thoughtful of the other person. They go on pretending they are in this non relationship that everyone around them sees them as a couple. Emma's ex boyfriend comes into the picture late and kind of feels like a after thought.  He could've had a bigger role as a threat to Emma but was just tossed in at the end. The story was good and i loved all the characters but i kept losing interest and it took me all weekend to read this when i thought i would've been done sooner. It just didn't hit anything in me to make me want to sit and read it in one sitting. I kept wanting to set it down. I've enjoyed other books by Jaci Burton so i think  it might just be this particular book and i plan to give the next book in this series a try when it comes out. Just didn't quite work for me.

Book review: The Professional: Part 3 (The Game Maker #1.3)by Kresley Cole

 photo 18223625_zps145a7477.jpg

Part 3 available January 20th
Are you ready to play?
Yet all is not as it seems. To remove Natalie from an enemy's reach, Sevastyan spirits her into hiding. From an opulent palace in Russia to the decadent playgrounds of the mega-wealthy in Paris, the two lovers will discover that even their darkest - and most forbidden - fantasies can come true…

This is the third and last part of The Professional The Game Maker book 1. If you have been following along with my reviews for the first two parts you know what a exciting book this has been. To quickly recap Natalie meets Sevastyan in a bar when she tries to pick him up. Little does she know that he knows exactly who she is and that he's been watching her for a while now and protecting her. Natalie wanted to know who her birth parents were and now she knows her father is a Russian Mafia boss. Sevastyan is a hitman of sorts that works for him but there is so much to him and as the story goes on in it's three parts you find out more about him and Natalie finds out more about herself. At the end of part 2 were left with a big exciting cliffhanger where Sevastyan takes Natalie to a BDSM sex club because she wants to explore her sexual side and Sevastyan wants to shock her.  You are not disappointed by what's behind the curtain.  In part 3 you finally get to the meaty part of Sevastyan and his past.  The story is emotional, sexy and exciting. I felt like i was on a fast train heading to the end. For me it kind of ended really fast though. Sevastyan was so resistant to give up his secrets and when he finally did he did it all at once and that was it and then the books just wraps up a little to nicely. I felt like i blinked and it was over. Did that take away from my enjoyment at all? Heck no. I'm holding out hope that Kresley Cole is going to do another book for Sevastyan's Brother and Natalie's friend Jess.  For me this book as a whole was good because of the excellent writing and humor and the all the characters likeability. If you love Sexy Russian men with dark pasts who are into kink and BDSM  you can't get any better than this. This was my first Kresley Cole book and i know i am coming back for more.

There’s no way in hell Gary Satchel, wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, will let Angie live with him temporarily. His best friend, Drew, would kill him if he found out he’s lusting after Angie. He only traveled to Deadhorse to give Angie the good news that the Seahawks hired her to work alongside their physical therapist and to have Drew take a look at his Camaro. But when Drew pulls a "bro favor," he finds himself up to his helmet in trouble.

Secretly is Debra Kayn's 4th book in the Playing for Hearts series but can be read as a stand alone. Book review: The Professional: Part 2 (The Game Maker #1.2) by Kresley Cole

 photo 18223628_zpsbe5330c6.jpg

Available now!
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole comes The Professional—the second scorching installment in her Game Maker series, an erotica collection that has readers asking: How hot is too hot?

He makes the rules...
Mafiya enforcer Aleksandr "The Siberian" Sevastyan’s loyalty to his boss is unwavering, until he meets the boss’s long-lost daughter, a curvy, tantalizing redhead who haunts his mind and heats his blood like no other. Ordered to protect her, Sevastyan will do anything to possess her as well—on his own wicked terms.

Rules are made to be broken...
PhD student Natalie Porter had barely recovered from her first sight of the breathtakingly gorgeous Sevastyan before the professional hit man whisks her away to Russia, thrusting her into a world of extreme wealth and wanton pleasures. With every day she spends under his protection, she falls deeper under his masterful spell.

Are you ready to play?
Yet all is not as it seems. To remove Natalie from an enemy’s reach, Sevastyan spirits her into hiding. From an opulent palace in Russia to the decadent playgrounds of the mega-wealthy in Paris, the two lovers will discover that even their darkest—and most forbidden—fantasies can come true..

This is part two of three parts and obviously picks up where part one left off.  Have you ever read a book where there was a WOW factor for you in the first chapter? Yeah well this is what this book has been doing for me. It's excitement, excitement and more excitement and then abject horror when you realize you are at the end of the part of the book that's being presented. I have seen other people say they have said out loud something like Oh my god nooo! This happened to me too so I can relate. Now i am awaiting part three. Each part isn't overly long but what you get is written to keep your attention and draw you in. The characterization is exceptional and the plot is intriguing and i can't figure out where the author is going with the story yet but i know i want to follow.  As a bit of a recap part one takes place in the US where Savastyan goes to get Natalie and bring her to her birth father who she has been looking for. In part two they move to Russia and then Natalie and Sevastyan end up on the run when something horrible happens.  Sevastyan is trying to protect Natalie from anyone who would harm her including himself... but he has also awakened her sexually and that's something she tries to hold on to and to him as she is trying to adapt to what her life has become and is still evolving. Amazing work from Kresley Cole. Looking forward to more.

Giveaway! DANGEROUS LOVE Blog Tour with Debra Kayn and Rebecca Zanetti!

Top 5 Reasons to Read the Sin Brothers Series
Thanks for being part of the blog hop!  I asked a couple of loyal fans for reasons to read the series, and here’s what we came up with:
1.     The brothers are wounded, strong, and so loyal to each other you’ll want to be part of their world, too.
2.     Ripped and predatory, the brothers protect everyone they love with a passion unmatched by man or beast, and it’s fun to watch the bad guys get what they deserve.
3.     The brothers are hot and sexy…and who doesn’t want to read sizzling pages that nearly scorch your fingers?
4.     There are enough twists and turns in the series that even the most experienced reader will be taken by surprise at least a couple of times.  Books and characters that surprise us are fun to read.
5.     While sex and action make for a great read, a truly good romance takes us away as we become the heroine in the books for a brief time.  Enjoying the journey with one of the Sin Brothers is a wonderful, exciting way to escape reality for a while.
Top 5 Reasons to Read WESTON
1. Tony, Kage, Lance, Garrett – Four super alpha men who are bossy, possessive, and sexy. When Tony focuses all his attention on one woman, you want to be that one woman.

2. Rocki, Janie, Sabrina – The girls in the story are cool, funny, strong, and when together, nothing but trouble. You never know what they're going to do. They take the boys from Beaumont Body Shop on a wild ride. Rocki is no exception. She's tough, smart, and when Tony's around, completely in lust.

3. Darrell Archer – Smooth, handsome, rich, and your neighborhood drug lord. You hate him, but he fascinates you. He's got the Archer charm. Just don't touch the flame, you might get burnt.

4. Corner Pocket – The local bar ran by Charlene, an older former dancer from Vegas. She's ballsy, and plays mother hen to all the characters.

5. Classic Cars – Not only is Tony Weston a private investigator, he runs Beaumont Body Shop where they restore classic cars. What's sexier than an alpha hero in a black classic Camaro?

Book review: A SEAL's Salvation by Tawny Weber

 photo 18343310_zpsdafab57e.jpg

Available January 21st 2014
Subject: Navy SEAL Petty Officer Brody Lane

Current Status: On leave

Obstacle: The one girl who was off-limits…

Where navy SEAL "Bad Ass" Brody Lane goes, trouble follows. Being run out of his hometown years ago for misbehaving with Genna Reilly—the sheriff's daughter—was one thing. Now Brody is about to step into real danger. Not the suggestive letters he's been exchanging with Genna, but the kind of trouble that can send a soldier home injured and broken inside…

Genna's entire life has been orchestrated by her family. The right job. The right friends. Enough! Brody's return offers the promise of lust-filled pleasures. Of flesh teased and tasted. She's not expecting to find a soldier with distant eyes who has secluded himself from the world. But this good girl knows exactly how to bring a bad boy back to life….

Uniformly Hot! The Few. The Proud. The Sexy as Hell.

This is my first Tawny Weber book. The blurb lured me in i must say. Sucker for my military guys.  The book starts off with Genna being 18 and Brody a bit older than her and her brothers friend.  Genna likes Brody and his brooding quiet bad boy ways and she decides to try and seduce him on a dare. Brody tries to put her off for a bit but when he finally gives in they get caught before much happens buy her hard ass cop of a father. Brody being from what is called the wrong side of the tracks is confront by Genna's father and pretty much is made to enlist in the Navy.  Now he's a kick ass decorated Navy Seal in the prime of his life when a bad  mission injures him and his grandmother brings him home to recover.  In walks Genna again. This time she's older and more mature and trying to come to grips with what her life has become with her parents trying to always run her life still. This was a good book in a lot of ways. I liked how Genna has to coax Brody out of his brooding about his injuries and and he helps her out from under the thumb of her parents and be herself.  It's not a easy fight to finish as you would think. There's a lot of back and forth between the two and several realizations have to take place between both characters.  I loved both the growth of Brody and Genna throughout the book and the secondary characters were interesting too.  This can definitely be read in one afternoon which makes it a perfect cold day read. I wouldn't mind reading more from this author.

Book review: Love a Little Sideways (Kowalski Family #7) by Shannon Stacey

 photo 18050760_zps49b5dbb0.jpg

Available now!
Liz Kowalski is heading home to Whitford, Maine—this time for good. Eager for her family, a fresh start and some fun, she doesn't count on being rescued by the chief of police her very first night back in town. Drew is everything she's not looking for…so why is she still so attracted to him?

After a brief, forbidden rendezvous at her brother's wedding, Drew Miller expects Liz to return to New Mexico and stay there. He's searching for someone to settle down with, not a casual fling with his best friend's sister. But when they're stuck together on the annual Kowalski camping trip, things start going a little sideways. Keeping their hands off each other proves just as impossible as keeping their secret from becoming public knowledge.

Amid family, mud and melted marshmallow, Liz and Drew try to fight what's growing between them. But a little time alone, a lot of chemistry and too many opinions might be just what it takes to bring together two people so determined not to fall in love.

I was pretty anxious to read Liz Kowalski's story for me she was a bit of a mystery. Never really read much about her. Of course that intrigues a person. lol Liz has finally decided to move back home for good. She's dumped her lazy going no where boyfriend and is looking to start anew. Doesn't take long for her to get herself on Facebook when she has to be rescued by the town's sheriff Drew Miller when she crashes her car on the way into town.  Drew and Liz had a little run in affair at Liz's brothers wedding months before and didn't expect to see each other again but sparks fly right from the start. Big problem is Liz and Drew think they are both looking for different things from life right now and even possibly bigger Drew is Liz's older brothers best friend. You don't pouch on a friends baby sister right? Things get sticky when the two of them being forced to go on a big Kowalski camping trip.  Hard to keep things a secret in the midst of something as big and boisterous as this. This was a fun book. I enjoyed all the by play from all the Kowalski's but i thought Liz was just a bit immature and Drew was taking things a little to fast. Every now and then it was a little annoying but over all i enjoyed it. I can't imagine  going on a camping trip with that big a group without gaining a few grey hairs but it's fun to read about it.  Shannon Stacey knows how to keep it all straight thank goodness. The Kowalksi's are a big rowdy bunch. I think the first few book of this series are still my favorites.

Book review: Seduction on the Sand (The Billionaires of Barefoot Bay #2) by Roxanne St. Claire

 photo 19321712_zpsd9a1ab94.jpg

Like everything in his life, becoming a billionaire was easy for Elliott Becker. He bought some land in Massachusetts and discovered he sat on two billion dollars worth of rare Goshen stone. Lucky, charming, and blessed with every gift, Elliott expects his simple purchase of property in Barefoot Bay will go the way everything does for him in life...easy. Until he meets the woman who currently owns that land and suddenly everything is...hard.

Frankie Cardinale’s fondest memories took place on the tiny goat farm owned and run by her “Nonno” in the heart of Barefoot Bay. As a child, the farm and its precious residents were a refuge for her after her parents died and her grandfather taught her all about “the sweet life” of raising goats. While she held her Nonno in her arms on his deathbed, she promised his land would never leave their family and that she would continue his legacy. Nothing—not even a sexy, playful, intoxicating billionaire who always gets his way—will convince her to break that promise.

Except Elliott Becker is a man who always gets what he wants even if that means a little seduction and double-crossing of a humble goatherd. But will his lucky streak hold long enough to keep him from making the biggest mistake of his life? Because all the money in the world can’t buy him what he really wants the most...Frankie's love

Available January 17th 2014
Ah yes! The second installment novella of the Billionaires of Barefoot Bay! Elliott Becker is one of those guys that everything comes easy for. He had no trouble getting his billionaire status. When he bought a piece of land and found that what was in the ground was worth way more than the land itself.  Now Elliott is part of a group of billionaire men who invest and build stuff and their latest idea is a baseball team and a ballpark  that involves some land they desperately need for it all to work. Unfortunately that land belongs to one Frankie Cardinale. Frankie isn't budging. Her grandfather told her the land was hers and since he had no will is waiting for the courts. He was a goat farmer and had a vision of what the land should be and Frankie intends to make that happen no matter what. What Elliott hadn't counted on when he came to find Frankie was was that Frankie was a woman not a man as he thought and, he's attracted to her. Something he can't seem to help but what will win out? His need to have that land, when he gets into something dirty to get it from her or Frankie and what she could be to him?  Roxanne St Claire gives us another winner! The mix of billionaire playboy and the goat woman is fun and interesting with a big surprise in the end.  It was fun to watch Elliott fall and fight it on the way but Frankie is just to much for his heart to resist. Awesome fast read! Can't wait for the third and last in this trilogy next month.

Book review: Turn Up the Heat: Love Won't Wait\Beach House Beginnings\Strong Enough to Love (The Carlisles #2)

 photo 18006108_zps695262b9.jpg

Three sizzling tales from three bestselling authors

Love Won't Wait by Lori Foster

Brendan "Brick" Carlisle is used to women falling at his feet, so shy waitress Merrily Loveland is a breath of fresh air—and an irresistible challenge. But before he can make his move, Merrily comes to him with an offer he can't refuse. If only their "no-strings" pact didn't leave him wanting so much more….

Beach House Beginnings by Christie Ridgway

She might have avoided Crescent Cove, California, for years, but no-nonsense Meg Alexander is confident she can handle a brief trip home. What she doesn't count on is the spark of desire she feels for Caleb McCall. Can a weekend in paradise convince her to give love a second chance?

Strong Enough to Love by Victoria Dahl

Photographer Eve Hill had always told herself that sexy Brian Stewart was off-limits. But now he's back in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Eve can't resist their long-denied attraction. When the reality turns out to be hotter than the fantasy, Eve might end up getting more than she bargained for…

This book consists of three great fast reading novella's from three authors. Lori Foster, Christie Ridgway and Victoria Dahl each give us a romantic stories that are emotional but with some fun too. I'll start out by saying Lori Foster is always a must read for me. I'm almost always 100% sure I'm going to like what i read. I was not disappointed. Brock and Merrily are a breath of fresh air. Brick is as hot as they come and Merrily the exact opposite and when they get together kaboom! Christie Ridgway i have actually never read before and this one was good and very emotional. Caleb has to help her overcome her ideas about love and help her deal with a great loss from when she was younger.  Lastly was Victoria Dahl. Her novella is not a new one i read it before when it was first released. I liked it but was very torn about the hurt Eve was carrying and i can't figure out how she brought herself to forgive Brian. I don't think i could do that. Yes he was married and no they didn't do anything about the attraction which is commendable. What doesn't work much for me is Brian and his wife had been separated several times and this last time was 2 years.  They had no kids and if he felt that strongly for Eve why the heck would be cut and run on her and go spend a year trying to figure out if his marriage could work and then even wait til he was divorced to show up and expect open arms. I think this might have been better as a longer book with more time for him to grovel. Overall i liked the first two novellas and the third was just meh. If your looking for a quick read this is a good book for you though. You can take your time reading it and not worry about racing to the finish because there are three distinct stories. One of the fun things about anthology books.

Book review: Yours to Keep by Serena Bell

 photo 17934890_zpsdf726745.jpg

Serena Bell makes her Loveswept debut with the captivating story of a woman living on the edge—and the man who’s destined to love her.

Ana Travares has been looking over her shoulder her whole life. Her U.S. visa expired when she was a young girl, and if her secret is discovered, she’ll be forced to return to the Dominican Republic. Ana allowed herself to get close to someone once before—and after he broke her heart, she swore never to make the same mistake again. But when a handsome doctor asks for her assistance, she fantasizes about breaking all her rules.

Even though pediatrician Ethan Hansen is a natural when it comes to little kids, as the single father of a teenage son he just can’t seem to get it right . . . except for the Spanish tutor he’s hired for his son, Theo. Ana has managed to crack Theo’s shell—and he isn’t the only one taken with her. The sexy tutor has fired up Ethan with a potent mix of lust and protectiveness. But as he starts to envision a future with Ana, Ethan is devastated to learn the truth about her citizenship. Somehow he’s got to find a way to help her—and hold on to the woman he’s falling hopelessly in love with.

This is my first Serena Bell book. I think i saw a excerpt on Facebook that made me want to read this and so here i am. Ana Travares found herself in a tough spot when her mother passed away as a child and she became a illegal person in the US.  Her mother and siblings had visas they didn't get renewed when her mother passed and that's how she got stuck where she is. She then started having to keep that secret and live a very careful life or risk being sent back to the Dominican Republic where it was possible very bad things could happen to her. Now she's an adult living with her sister and her nephews and her older brother who has taken care of the family for years. He's a little overbearing and protective and a bit scary but he had to give up everything to provide and protect the rest of them. He wants them all safe.  Ana works a couple jobs to help chip in but has some dreams of her own but no idea how she can make them happen. Ethan Hansen is a great pediatrician but when it comes to his own teenage son he feels like a failure.  He finds Ana when helping her out with her boss. Ana is a Spanish tutor and that's just what Ethan needs for his son so he hires her. There's a instant attraction and  Ana has a way with Ethan's son and with Ethan. This one will tug your heartstrings. Circumstances out of her control is how Ana finds herself where she is but as the book goes on it feels like a noose is closing in around her neck. I was afraid she'd get taken in to custody before Ethan finally gets his feelings sorted out. Ana is awesome and deserves to find her happiness but trust for her is a hard thing and just when she starts to trust Ethan it all falls apart and Ethan leaves her to her lowest point. It's a heart string puller but there are some fun stuff in there with Ethan's son and brother getting on his case. A nicely rounded out book and a joy to read.

Book review: The Professional: Part 1 (The Game Maker #1.1) by Kresley Cole

 photo 18223667_zps3e9301f2.jpg

He makes the rules . . .

Rules are made to be broken . . .

From an opulent palace in Russia to the decadent playgrounds of the mega-wealthy in Paris, the two lovers will discover that even their darkest—and most forbidden—fantasies can come true…

First let me say i have always wanted to read Kresley Cole but i never got the chance to go back and read any of her back list so when i saw she had a new series i knew this was my chance to start at the beginning with something. This is going to be a three part series so you can buy these as they come out if you like the suspense of waiting for  them at one time when they are all out. If you start with the first you'll want to continue to the second. I'm sure of it. I didn't know what to expect as i am not familiar with the writing of Kresley Cole but i have heard so many good things i was really hopeful. The book starts out with Natalie in college in Nebraska and frustrated she can't seem to track her biological parents down. She's busted her butt working three jobs to pay an investigator to find them and to get through school. When she and some of her friends are out at local bar and Natalie is feeling a little down about her situation she meets Sevastyan and in her brief run in with him she finds herself intrigued and turned on by his gruff and a little scary appearance. He blows her off pretty much though. At least that's what it seems like until she finds him later in her house watching her while she's in the tub where she's naked! That's where her trip to Russia to meet the man whose supposedly her biological father begins. Sevastyan wisks her off on a plane to Russia. With that comes a whole lot of changes for her. Her escort the mysterious but sexy Sevastyan pushes all her sexual buttons she didn't even know she had. Problem is he runs hot and cold and Natalie can't quite figure him out. In the meantime she's getting to know her father and her distant cousin who is a mystery in different ways. The sexual chemistry between Natalie and Sevastyn is through the roof! You can feel in the first time they meet and it only intensifies through the story. Kresley Cole is a true word smith. Her dialogue between her characters is sexy and intriguing and at the same time draws  you into the world of Russia and at this point of the three parts of this book you are just getting started. It can only getting better i think.  Sizzling hotto the end you are left wondering what the sexy Sevastyan has planned for Natalie. My interest is very well piqued and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next!

Want to know more? You can right on Kresley Cole's website. There's even a lengthy excerpt if you not sure this is for you. Be forewarned this is erotica. 18 years and older is recommended. Find it here www.kresleycole.com/the-game-maker-series
